I have had a Livecash account with HSBC for about 4 months now and have found them most convient as their ATM's are nearly everywhere. The Livecash account from HSBC offers a cash card from the age of 11. With an interest rate of 2.25%, which is about aevarge for which i wouldn't be jumping for joy about. Secondly the cash card enables access to your money, anywhere, anytime. I don't have any problems with the card. The Livecash account gets even better once you hit 13. At 13, you are offered a Livecash SOLO card which works the same way as a simlpe cash card but allows you to pay in shops with your card, do internet banking, telephone banking and online shopping! This is really good fun! Also, you can't get overdrawn with the card which is really handy when it comes to shopping. I have no problems with the account and the daily limit of withdrawals a day is reasoanble at £100 which is good as U16's wouldn't be taking out too much anyway. I think you're allowed to get even more over a counter in a HSBC bracnh. Most major retailers accept SOLO, e.g Selfridges, Tesco, etc Online retailers also accpet the card like Amazon and eBay
With the Livecash account you get
cash card if 11-12 solo card 13+ PIN (personal id number) access to online & telephone banking pay-in book FM radio
The online banking feature is excellent, you can set up direct debits, standing orders, pay bills, and trasnfer money. This is useful for transferring money from my savings account to my livecash account.
You can use the cashcard at most cash machines displaying thh HSBC or LINK logo. You can take out money from any NatWest & RBS machine.
I reccomend this account to anyone aged between 11-15 looking for freedom!!
Thanks ~kD~

2% intrest is / was very low. I'm with a young saver account at Natwest. You get nearer 4% and get the solo card from the age of either 11 or 12. I can't see why you would rather not have a solo card and have lower intrest rates
