I would have no hesitation to recommend HSBC, formerly Midland Bank, to anyone looking for a bank. Their customer service, speed and efficiency is good.
I am a bit disappointed that they have been so slow to get going on the computerized banking though. I begged for ages to be allowed on to the PC banking trial, which works well, but it is a pain having to dial into a separate site when you want to do banking things. Internet banking has been long promised and is to be released in “the summer”, but that is as specific as it gets. They say that PC banking is being pulled in September(?) but it is hard to see how this can happen if they have not rolled out their internet banking service.
Maybe it’s the icing on the cake, but please get on with it.
