HSBC have recently introduced an internet facility. Through this it is possible to access all account information such as statements, standing orders and direct debits. It is also posible to set up payments to third parties.
I have used this facility several times and have found it extremely easy to use. All requests made through the internet such as bill payments and amending standing orders, have been acted upon within 48 hours. The process of setting up payments was made easier by the drop downs available which avoid the need to type in too much information. The only information I needed to type in was account number and name. Standing order amendments and cancellations are also very easy to make. I also find that statements are very up to date.
I live aproximately 35 miles from my branch and am not always able to get to the telephone during the day. I find this facility makes my banking a lot easier. I am able to access my account 24 hours a day.

Advantages: Very easy to use internet banking. Good deals for students with £1000 free overdraft. Disadvantages: Since they have changed logon for internet banking it takes slightly longer
