Your a teenager, you want money, quick, fast, and you want easy access to it. So, as long as your around 13 and over and under 16 you can apply for a DEBIT card. Brilliant, access to money from most places in the UK, (and even in other countries!) , you cant go into debt, you can only spend what youve got, you can even use it online, on ebay and to top your phone up. Absolutely brilliant.
Thats where HSBC come in, They have 2 schemes for under 18's. If your 16-18, you get a student card, if your 11 to 15, you opt for the livecash account. For the 11-12 year olds there is the livecash card, you can only use it on hsbc machines, but you can internet bank and easily deposit money through the bank itself or a dropoff point outside/inside. But when your 13+ thats when the real fun comes in, you can apply for a Solo/Cirrus/Maestro Debit Card. This means you can buy at shops which display anyone of the 3 Solo,Cirrus and Maestro signs or get money from any cash machine in the country that displays their pictures. You can use it for internet shopping and even set up standing orders and Direct Debits (subscriptions).
So i ended up going to my local hsbc bank, only a couple of miles away, and i got an application form, i was amazed to see how easy it was to fill in, i filled everything in and got my mums signature put on it and then took it in. I even got a free radio/personal organiser for being a new customer. During the next 1 1/2 weeks my things started coming through the post, first some leaflets, then my livecash card and then finally, the thing i was so eager to have, the debit card. I shot onto the computer signed up for internet banking and was ready to explore the vast world of internet shopping.
The internet banking is so easy to use, you can make payments, create standing orders and direct debits or just look at how much money you have and your recent transactions. You sign up with paypal and your ready for e-bay. To help you with your internet shopping, HSBC have offers available to you exclusively at some online retailers. Absolutely amazing!
Heres a bit of in depth detail for some of you:

Not bad huh?
I have had this account for around 3 months and i find it very easy to use, and i really like it. It is a must for any teenager. Well that just about wraps it up. HSBC the worlds local bank!

Good review but you need to watch out on grammer. Have a look for the apostrophe key. Then it will read i'm or i'll not im or ill. Just a small point. Cheers. Keep up the writing. Nigel

I'm a bit old for that now but I had a debit card when I was 12 and I never used it lol. Only started to use mine when I turned about 17 because then I actually had some cash lol Nicky
Advantages: Low application requirements, sensible credit limit, various ways to bank, accepted worldwide Disadvantages: Only for students, not a super low interest rate
