During my free time, I enjoy reading and writing opinions. I am also a sports enthusiast who is into aqua aerobics, swimming and yoga. I like stair climbing as well, and have climbed the OUB and UOB centres in Singapore several times.

I started using HSCB (formerly Midlands) for my banking needs when I was a university student. As a postgraduate, I was given £1500 overdraft limit for my switch card and £500 credit limit on my visa, very generous of Midlands...some banks do not even give students that privilege. On top of that, when I graduated, my student account became a graduate account whereby I can still go debit in my student account within my overdraft limit and not pay any interest. My credit limit was increased by £1000 when I graduated upon my request. The customer service at various HSBC banks prove to be marvelous. The customer officers always seem eager to help and they do listen. The great convenience is whenever I need a paper statement, the staff is always helpful in generating the statement on the spot. Other banks like Barclays require you to collect it two days later. This is not convenient for some people who needs the statement urgently to apply for a foreign visa for overseas holidays.
So far, I have absolutely no problem with HSBC. And I am glad that it is the first UK bank I use. Plus, HSBC is gonna have online banking soon....
