A short while ago I had found that my Debit Card had been CLONED . My branch of the HSBC literally catapulted into action and traced where the culprits had been and plotted their progress. I was stung for around 3500 pounds by the fraudsters bur the HSBC refunded all the money deducted by the team and were very efficient in assistance in the transfer of all my banking to a new account . My praise for this service could not be higher.
The concerns I have surrounds the ease at which these thieves obtained and cloned my card. Also how easy it was for them to use my details on another card.
I do think the banking fraternity do have a responsibility to enhance the securirty of Debit\Credit cards. Although I do understand that there are steps being taken to close some of the loopholes.
My Warning to everybody
1: Keep your card in your sight at all times.
2: If the operator swipes the card twice ask the reason why ? ( Make it known you are watching )
3: Do not throw away receipts always take them with you. 4: Destroy them by tearing them up of burning them ( Remember the receipt contains sufficient details for the thieves. 5: Keep your Cards Safe 6: Take out insurance
