Got my Touch Diamond 3 weeks ago on a contract, sharing some experience with people who is considering buying this phone.
The design of Diamond is actually the main reason I choice it. Comparing to iPhone, it is much thinner and smaller, and also comes with a phone case. The larger 2.8 inch 640X480 screen produces high image and video qualities. The built-in 4G storage allows a lot of music tracks and video clips to be stored.
TouchFLO makes the user interface looks fantasic. Contact list, Email and Weather feature, all looks better than iPhone's interface. A stylus is included, and it supports hand writing input as well as the virtual keyboard. Synchronising contacts and to-do-list with Outlook is also very easy through ActiveSync software.
This is my first time using a Windows Mobile system, one thing I have to say is, I found it much easier to use than the Symbian S60 3rd system on my old Nokia N73. Using Touch Diamond couldn't be easier if you a Windows user. Things like installing software are also straight forward, no more hassles such as 'Certificate Expired' on Symbian systems.
As a frequent intant message user, I enjoy the feeling of getting in touch with my friends when I am not at home. The phone comes with MSN Messenger, which works as good as the one on my laptop. I installed Skype myself, so I could have voice chat with my friend on it. There was a bit delay but perfectly acceptable on a mobile device.
The built-in GPS works perfectly with Google map. They all come with the phone. It only took around 2 minutes to get my position when I was travelling on the coach to London yesterday. Google map also offers the satellite view feature, so you could see the road and buildings around as well.
There are also some disadvantages. The battery life is pretty limited, for heavy users like me, have to charge it every day. Although there is an optinal battery pack which could be purchased seperately, it increases the size of the phone at the same time. The sound quality is very poor for some reasons, I found my ringtone starts to sound horrible as the volume goes higher. The phone is also a bit slow, as the TouchFLO is consuming a lot of system resources. I found it is a lot quick once TouchFLO is closed.
Overall I am really pleased with Touch Diamond. It has got all features that I expect from a phone and a PDA device, and its slim size and beautiful design are also very attractive. If the battery life and sound quality are enhanced, it is going to be a perfect phone to get.

Great first review! This product sounds really good - I have an HTC XDA Exec which I'm ultra-pleased with despite it being a couple of years old now and bigger/heavier than this slimline model (but then it is a proper Windows Mobile PDA with full keyboard as well as a phone!) and do I get the idea that HTC make quite good products. If I were to get a new phone, I'd probably try to decide between this one and the iPhone.
Advantages: Decent battery life, lots of features Disadvantages: Poor durability, poor reception, many bugs/errors, Windows Mobile 6.1 not user friendly, unstable
