    5 Stars iPhone beware! 12/02/2009

Advantages Advantages Brilliant, fast internet use

Disadvantages Disadvantages No flash on camera, apart from that there aren't any

Before purchasing this phone I had the Samsung Tocco, although I really liked the Tocco I had grown tired of it as I do with most phones after having them around 6 months! I went into a few phone shops & at first I was considering getting either the Samsung Omnia, the LG Renoir or the iPhone 3G. I asked about these phones in quite a few shops & I was recommended not to get them, instead I was recommended the HTC Touch HD phone. To begin with I was sceptical as I mainly go for brands that I know which would be Samsung, I?ve had many Samsungs before & have been extremely pleased with them. I had ... more

    3 Stars A Touch Of HTC 14/11/2012

Advantages Advantages Fairly simple for a smart phone, battery life ok

Disadvantages Disadvantages Out of date, requires a stylus to use touch screen

I didn’t think too highly of this phone when it was my main phone, but funnily enough, although also a HTC, I am tempted to go back to using it instead of my current phone, which I recently reviewed. Appearance/Aesthetics Compared to my current phone, this one is lighter, a little smaller in length and width, thicker and has a smaller screen space. I prefer that this phone is a little lighter, even if this implies a lower quality. Though more chunky, I still think it looks nicer and I do prefer its surface materials. The back is softer and more rubbery, rather than the metal finish of my ... more

Advantages Advantages Good looks, huge screen, software, range of features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Apps not easy enough to find, battery life not great when running WiFi or Bluetooth

FIRST IMPRESSIONS When I first recieved my Touch HD nearly 2 weeks ago, the first thing that caught my eye was the rather nice packaging. The box is very compact but everything is well packed, and the inside of the box has a nice foam finish around the area the phone sits in, providing ample protection. The box contained the following: * The phone itself * A/C adapter * USB cable * Hands free set * "Getting Started" disc * Instruction manual disc * Quick start guide * Accessory guide * Warrenty card * HTC care helpline number list * Screen Protector * Soft Case The USB cable also acts as the ... more

Advantages Advantages wonderful screen, amazing feature list, a verifiable power house.

Disadvantages Disadvantages gets warm under heavy use, a tad bulky, poor legibility of screen under direct sunlight

Now before i begin this review I must confess to being a technophile. I love all things technical and modern which means that i tend to gravitate towards high end devices. I had been looking for a new device and I began the intensive process of seeking a new ~ahem~ assistant. Upon seeing the HTC touch HD i was immediately impressed by its looks. I had considerd HTC before with their tytn II but was put off by a device that didnt have any style whatsoever. Not with the Touch HD. The device is simply gorgeous to look at and has a look and design that will age very well indeed. I always demand ... more

Advantages Advantages Neat screen and features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lacks the ease and range of other similar devices

HTC has been always reminded me of Apples iPhone. After all the company even managed to sneak out the original Touch before Apple had time to get the first version of the iPhone to market. But now HTC has got even more competition on its hands with the likes of the Samsung's impressive Omnia on its trail. Its response to this is the Touch HD, a phone with a screen that's so crisp and sharp that it is head and shoulders above the displays on rival devices, leaving them looking blurry and out of focus. Is the HTC capable of holding its own against the iPhone and the Omnia? First of all, the ... more
