This has got to be one of the handiest portable lights i have ever bought.
The HV professionals height is about 26" long and it has 2 fluorescent tubes each one 23" long. The tubes are protected at the front by a tough clear plastic case, this is easily removed by pressing 2 buttons in, one at each end at the same time.
The tubes that ... ...enough area to see, the HV does.
Lofts are a place where many people have no power, this will light up a large loft easy.
Garden sheds another great use.
The build quality for the moving parts, handles, cable storage are not the best but the rest of the light is solid and the tubes are a good make. The cost of the light was £9.99 +vat from Macro on a special so quality is not going to be top of the range.

The tubes that come with the HV are good quality Philips Lifemax TLD 18w/865 cool daylight. They use 10% less energy and are 20% brighter than standard fluorescents which is good for the environment. Removing the tubes is easy just twist it until the prongs on the end can be seen then slide the tube out. This procedure will probably never happen as the tube is supposed to last about 13000 hours.
The light can be powered with the attached power supply or run off the rechargeable batteries. The cable and plug for the power supply is stored in a compartment in the back of the light. When removing this be careful as i have already broke the hinge on the door that stores the power cable. The cable is 67" long this could have been longer so you do not always have to rely on the rechargeable batteries. When storing the cable back into its compartment make sure it is placed all the way in as this is how i broke mine, trying to force the door shut. But to be honest i do not think it would take long for this part to brake anyway.
At the top of the light is a pull out handle, this is tight and hard to pull out and slide back in.
At the bottom of the light is a stand, you pull this out and the light will stand up on its own as long as it is on a reasonably flat surface.
you can hang the light on the wall vertically or horizontally as there are to slots on the back for hanging.
On the side are 2 switches. 1 switch is for putting the light on battery charge and power on. The other gives you different options on what lights you want on. You can have both tubes on, the left only or the right only. If you have both tubes on the internal batteries will not last as long maybe 20-30 minutes and with only one tube on it might last up to an hour. Not exactly sure on these times as i have lost the instructions that told you how long it lasted. to give it a full charge i remember it saying 16 hours so you do not get long for the charging time. Beside the switches are a green light and a red light. The green light lets you know the mains power is connected and turned on the red light lets you know the batteries are getting low and need charging.
The brightness given off from the tubes is very good and it is a very cool blue white light.
The portability of it is great, under stairs cupboard we have has no light or electrics, tried torches and lamps but these just do not light up a big enough area to see, the HV does.
Since buying this light i have noticed better known brands with a light of a similar design as this, and probably better build quality but the prices were around the £35 mark.
So overall this light is great and i would be lost without it.
