ABOUT HAAGEN DAZ
Haagen Daaz launched its first three flavours; Vanilla, Chocolate and Coffee back in 1961 in America and it wasn't long before the demand for this particular brand of ice cream went nationwide, but it wasn’t until 1987 that Haagen Daz first appeared on UK shelves and ever since then we have been trying and tasting all sorts of Haagen-Daz ice cream flavours from Strawberry cheesecake to Chocolate chip cookie dough and so on. I'm sure it can be said without any argument that Haagen Daz ice cream is one of the best selling ice cream brands across the globe, with global identity and a flare for bringing us the best flavours in ice cream.
CHOC CHOC CHIP
Ok so I settled down to watch sex and the City the Movie the other night and I remember that I had one of the 500ml tubs of Haagen-Daz ice cream sitting in the freezer, although I have to admit I wasn't entirely sure what flavour it was that was sitting there waiting to be enjoyed. We don't eat a lot of ice cream in our household but I like to have it in the freezer just in case. I was on my own and when I watch a girly movie I either like to enjoy a nice glass of wine or pig out on junk food and ice cream so I took a wander through to see what delightful Haagen-Daz treat awaited me, to my surprise it was Choc Choc Chip - not my favourite - I guess it was the other half that chose this one but I had a craving for something creamy and cold so I whipped it out, grabbed myself a spoon and a tea towel and settled down to watch the film. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the traditional Haagen-Daz distinctive packaging, that Burgundy pot with the yellow flowery pattern along the top and the golden rimmed lid which pops perfectly back into place sealing in your ice cream once you've finished eating it so you can put it back in the freezer until a later date. The reason for the tea towel is purely because I don't like to have cold hands and I find that a tea towel helps to absorb a lot of the chill factor. The Ice cream is covered with a seal which can be easily peeled off to reveal what is underneath. At first glance the ice cream is a nice creamy milky chocolate colour with glimpses of dark chocolate chips delicately dancing on the surface…..did I really want to eat this I asked myself……the answer of course was yes so in went the spoon and out came the ice cream. Of course the first thing I noticed about the ice cream was how incredibly cold it was but then as it started melting I tasted the sweet creamy chocolate flavour of the ice cream and was glad I'd decided to open this up, it made for a nice change to the sorbets I usually buy, and the ice cream was so velvety and creamy on my tongue. One of the things I generally don't like about ice cream with chocolate chips in it, is the fact that the chocolate chips go quite hard in the freezer and you have to crunch on them which I don't like to do but they take such a long time to melt. I really like dark chocolate on the rare occasions that I take a craving and think the dark chocolate chips are a nice addition to this ice cream, and the volume of chocolate chips is pretty generous, I can guarantee that you will get at least one but more than likely more than one chocolate chip with every mouth-full, they taste like bourneville chocolate (did I spell that right?) but I just don't like the effort you have to put in to eat them. If I'm completely honest I only managed a small portion of this ice cream as I did find it very sweet and chocolaty so back into the freezer it went. I think it’s nice for a little indulgence but too much and you run the risk of making yourself ill, I think you’d have to be a true chocoholic to be able to eat a large portion of this ice cream which I’m not.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS
I actually did like this ice cream if for nothing else than a change from the normal but it's not something I see myself indulging in very often. Disappointing factors were the chocolate chips being too hard to enjoy properly so that let the ice cream down a little bit, but for the chocolaty factor I have to give this a 10/10, they don't call it choc choc chip for nothing I guess. As far as chocolate ice creams go this wouldn't be my first choice, I’d probably go for something more like a chocolate mousse (our local baskin Robbins does a delicious Chocolate Mousse Royale) than something with chocolate chips in it but overall a nice ice cream from a great brand.
Where to Buy
You can pretty much buy a variety of Haagen Daz flavoured ice creams from any supermarket but as I get my weekly shop from Tesco I can tell you that you can pick up a 500ml tub for £3.00 on their current offer - normal price is £3.82.
Advantages: It's Haagen-Dazs and it's ice cream! Disadvantages: A bit too bitter for me...
...my favourite ice cream – Haagen-Dazs Cookies and Dough, but when I went to the freezer to get my tub yesterday morning, the majority of it had been stolen, leaving me with barely a taste! So my fiancé kindly donated his tub of Haagen-Dazs Choc Choc Chip ice cream and it is this that I am going to review.
Haagen-Dazs makes beautiful ice cream. It contains fresh cream, so it always tastes lovely, rich and creamy. The Choc Choc Chip variety features ... ...milk chocolate fan myself.
Haagen-Dazs ice creams are suitable for vegetarians (hooray!), but not vegans as they contain milk and eggs. It doesn’t say how many calories there are in a tub, so that must mean there aren’t any then! (Ha!)
The main disadvantage to decent ice creams is that they are expensive. A tiny tub of Haagen-Dazs contains 500ml of ice cream and costs around £4 each!
A tub usually takes me two sittings to finish it ...

The important bit the taste and experience
This is the time of year for ice cream and I do love ice cream and what can be more comforting than a tub of ice cream
I had had a bad day and needed a treat so opened the tub of ioce cream now i do not like my ice cream too hard so if I have the time I take it out the freezer about 20 minutes before eating and if in a hurry I put it in the microwave on defrost for a tiny bit BUT be careful with this metod ... ...ful eye on it.
Colour was brown and it smelt delicious and the pieces of cjhocolate chips looked yummy. The taste was creamy and the then the chips were slightly bitter so it was a lovly taste with the sweet creaminess of the ice cream against the slightly bitter chips so all said and done a lovely balance.
Bad Points: Well, it's ice cream so if you eat enough, you'll gain weight. and this is high in fat calories and sugar and cholesterol Other ...

...old Ice Cream. Haagen-Dazs Choc Choc Chip to be exact.
I am sitting here, spoon in hand (well mouth really) savouring the lush chocolate sensation.
It is starting to soften now making it easier to spoon out of the tub (got to eat it out of the tub).
This is going to take ages to write as I keep on stopping to re-fuel.

haagen's adiction...
I really recommend this producto to anyone who loves chocolate. If you just like chocolate, I'd say you'll like this one too, but you could also find this purity is a bit too high... Anyway, give it a chance, and don't say NO looking at the price of this product (the worst thing of this brand).
Finally, I'd like to say this haagen's got another diferents flavours, like HaagenDazs Cookies and cream, HaagenDazs Creme caramel pecan, HaagenDazs Sorbet-chocolate, HaagenDazs Baileys icecream, HaagenDazs cookie dough, HaagenDazs vanilla caramel brownie, HaagenDazs Vanilla icecream, HaagenDazs Banoffee caramel pie, HaagenDazsChocchocchipicecream, HaagenDazsicecream dairy cookies and cream, HaagenDazsicecream lemon cheesecake, HaagenDazsicecream praline and cream and HaagenDazs strawberry ...
