After buying a new hamster a few months back now, we decided to treat it to a brand new cage, get rid of the old hamster and gerbil cage and buy a new one, the fact was though that we didn't have that much money to spend on one.
We nipped down to our local pet shop, 'Seapets' and browsed through the Habitrail and Rotastak collection of cages. Knowing these cages were way too good for our little hammy we decided to move on, a few minutes later when we still hadn't decided on a suitable cage so the shop assistant came over and gave us some help and assistance, he showed us this 'Habitrail' cage, we told him we only had £20 and he said that's lucky, the cage is £20!
We couldn't believe it, we thought those kind of cages were about £40-£60 each! We had the choice of two habitrail cages, a safari style cage or a space style cage, I was wuite interested in the space cage though the safari one looked more fun for the hamster so we settled on that one.
The cage itself is called the 'Habitrail Safari Cage' and is dark green in colour. (Safari colour!) Although it is quite small you can add on tubes, sleeping compartments, mazes and lots more too though all at extra costs. We stuck with the cage and our little hammy loved it!
It came with a free hamster wheel, hamster bed and we bought the water bottle and bowl at a pound each. The wheel was especially fab, it curved in at the edges so poor little hammy couldn't fall out or slip which I thought was especially sweet and cute!
The cage is brilliant, it has a little plastic bar protector all around it so litter droppings and sawdust doesen't escape, The bed compartment is upstairs and the green coloured plastic must have had something in it because for once my hamster didn't even try and bother to chew it and rip it to pieces!
The bars to the cage are also great, they are horizontal instead of vertical which makes the hamsters life a misery when it goes to chew on them!
Unfortunately little hammy dies a few weeks ago, I'm sure the cage will come in handy again someday! Thanks~M~
