Habitrail are owned by Rolf C Hagen, but one of their warehouses is based near where I live at Whitwood, West Yorkshire.
There are plenty of pet shops who stock Habitrail products throughout the UK.
Habitrail cages have been around for the last 10 years or so, they started with the larger cages such as Circus Unit, Park Unit, Home unit and another design (sorry I’ve forgot its that long ago).
Along with these they did cool hamster wheels in the shape of a racing car called the dragster, (sounds like something from Top Gear) they also did a hamster maze.
Safari cage - This item has been around for 8 to 10 years, I remember ordering them in for them to fly of the shelves all those years ago and it’s still a product which sells highly today.
ADVANTAGES
You can build, build and build your own empire of hamster cages and accessories. Designed in cool khaki colours any kid or big kid will love it
DISADVANTAGES
Cage in my opinion is TOO small for hammy but its passable for a mouse but I still think its tiny however providing you are going to purchase more add on pieces for your pet to manoeuvre more you should find this to be suitable.
I personally prefer to have my pets in a roomy capacity but I appreciate not everyone has the space or the money for items which can work out expensive.
Price of add on’s extras can prove expensive
Cleaning of small parts can be awkward.
CLEANING
The more stuff you have the more you have to clean, mice are smelly so I would recommend cleaning out every few days with a decent animal friendly disinfectant.
Plastic services to be cleaned with a soft cloth or sponge to help prevent staining, if your pet will use a litter tray, put one in the cage as this stops the horrible staining of wee and poo.

Most pet shops now offer a free hamster with every cage but personally I think this is a little on the 'small' size for our furry friends to have the item on its own.
The cage comes complete with a hamster wheel bottle, food dish, house and slide.
This cage is suitable with all other Habitrail accessories should you get fed up of the safari theme and want to add some colour.
PRICE
Prices start from as little as £2.99 or less for the tubes and go up to £30.00 for the larger items which is a lot more reasonable then some of the cages on the market.
When you first purchase any of these items it is best to get an adult to put these together as little fingers are likely to get trapped and some of the pieces are a little awkward to put together therefore you run the risk of breaking some of the plastic catches.
This will certainly keep the kids entertained for days as they will love to keep changing their pet’s tubes and will be spending all their pocket money on Habitrail.
