One of the best war movies I have ever seen. Mel Gibson has done a wonderful job in bringing the real life story of ABC to life. The movie starts out with ABC’s father being an army man and the impact of his participation in the war the brings to his family. The struggle that the family goes through at each stage of life after his dad’s return from war. All the army friends of XYZ are either dead or critically injured. He loses out most of his comrades in the war. He struggles with constant fights with his wife and the kids too are at loggerheads most of the time. Meanwhile he beats up his wife daily and the kids fight constantly as well. The war has completely messed up their life.

The kids grow up and have to enlist themselves in the army as most of them do. ABC too joins and on condition that he will never touch the arms, this becomes a reason of worry for the army. Since they considered his act to be an act of disrespect to the army and as a drawback to them. ABC does well in all tasks but is still tried for court-martial since he disobeys the direct orders of his superiors. He gets beaten up by the other cadets as well, but he never gives up since he wants to give his all to his country by working as medic. He wants to save life and take them, this way he will be doing a far better thing at war. Nevertheless he didn’t get accepted at first but when he is sentenced to life for his indiscipline he is sent for trial, then XYZ comes and proves his innocence. He is sent to war as medic and he saved close to 100 life including those of the people who never had the faith in him. Even when the entire US force is backing up, he faces the Japs alone and secretly bring down all the injured soldiers from the Hacksaw Ridge. He is granted the highest US honor for saving that many lives.

Go for it!!!
