Hagen Hamster-Slumber Bedding

When I went to the pet shop to purchase my hamster for my children the pet shop owner recommended this type of bedding, to be honest when I was younger we used to just use toilet roll and scrunch it up for them lol, but things have changed since back then, so I bought a small bag of this, which changed once a week, did last me five weeks, and it only cost me £1.14 which I found not to be too badly priced, you may however find it cheaper elsewhere or it may cost more as prices will vary.

The bedding is just like cotton wool, so you would probably get away with just buying normal cotton wool, but I am not sure, it does look and feel exactly the same, which is why I can not touch it as I can not stand the feel of cotton wool, so if you are the same as me this would not be for you, luckily my kids have the task of cleaning the cage, so I am alright.

The bag does state on the back how you should place it in the hamsters house by using about four to six times larger than your hamster, and then you need to loosen it and pull it apart a bit, which makes it easier for the hamster to snuggle into.

I have found the hamsters can move this about themselves quite easily, as they have moved it about in their cage to where they will feel more comfortable with it.

The hamsters seem to find this really comfortable and they tend to spend most of their time snuggled up in it, apart from around 3am in the morning when they decide to come out and be noisy loll.

The only thing I find is that food and the wood pellets I use tend to get stuck in the cotton wool when the hamsters move it around, but this does not seem to bother them, but this is why you do need to change it at least once a week, but I would recommend this to buy for any hamster, its cheap and it does last around five weeks, and the hamsters seem so snug.
