    Advantages Advantages Helps encourage the growth of protective "good bacteria".

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Only needed for tank set ups, so don't need a big bottle.

    As some of you maybe aware a little while ago my kids have both had new filter water tanks for cold water fish. What none of you know is that my son’s “baby” Loopy Lou, unfortunately died on Halloween, so after much crying and a grand burial ceremony (down the toilet!), I did promise him a new fish. Now when we went to initially buy the previous one, we were advised to make sure the tank was matured before adding any fish to it, this simply means running the filter in the full tank without the fish, giving the tank enough time to grow it’s own layer of “good bacteria”, these then in turn can ... more
