We brought this washing machine because it was in stock and we could collect that day. Our washing machine had finally ceased to work. I could go into lots of details such as the 11 wash presets, the 6kg load capacity, the different spin cycles or tell you its a front loader, i am sure you could tell that from the picture though.
The machine was so simple to install that anyone that can push in a 3 pin plug and tighten up a plastic nut on a water pipe can do with ease. The silver colour of our machine would fit in with any modern kitchen design. If only we had a modern kitchen.........
We have found this machine to be a great washing machine. Ours must do on an average day between 2 - 3 loads. One problem we had with the machine when we first got it was that it would not spin properly. We called out the engineer and he informed us that to fully spin it has to have a complete load in it. It would have helped if they had included this in the booklet.
Do not worry though if you do not have a full load, just use the quick wash setting which takes about 30 minutes and this will spin single items on a full spin. Some of the preset washing setting do seem to take a long time to wash the clothes. Some can take as long as 2 hours 30 minutes. The way round this is to set it on fabrics and just increase the water temperature to 50 degrees and the spin cycle to 1200. This setting will wash a load in 1 hour 35 minutes.
The draw backs to the settings is that you only have 2 spin settings 1000 and 1200. Being able to override the automatic heat of the water is a godsend with soiled clothes.
The machine has a finished wash alert. So when you first use the machine if you hear a beeping sound coming from your kitchen a couple of hours later, do not worry, its your machine telling you its ready to be emptied.
Whichever setting we have used it on to wash, the clothes have always come out clean and thoroughly washed. If you are on a budget and looking around to replace your washer this is a worthwhile investment. It is easy to use and the only thing you have to remember is to set the spin speed.
When you switch on the machine you have to choose the setting, you then press start and set the heat you want to wash at, then press start again to set the spin cycle and then press start to commence the cycle. It sounds more involved than it actually is.
The machine also has an economy setting and a setting where it can give a double rinse. The heat and spin cycle settings show up on the lcd display so you can easily see what you have set. Also the booklet that comes with the machine gives you a list of error codes that may show up on the lcd display if there is a problem, and tells you what these codes mean.
When in use the machine is not that noisy, but obviously this does increase slightly when it spins. Our dinning room is right next to the kitchen and when the adjoining door is closed we can not hear the machine when its in use.
This is very easy to keep clean and a wipe with a damp cloth is all thats needed to wipe any marks or stains off it. We have had this machine for 12 months and we have had no problems with it at all.
I would certainly buy other appliances made by Haier in the future.
