I had never heard of this make before, but having had two bad experiences with so-called "British" manufactured washing machines, I decided to take a chance. I purchased mine from Comet, and the assistant explained that Haier were huge in Asia and that they had experienced no returns on this product as yet.
This was the cheapest model in the store, but it boasted many excellent features, such as:
LED control Panel Triple A energy efficiency 11400 spin speed Many was progammes Quick wash of less that half an hour Delay start.
When I first got the machine home and tried it, I was delighted. The quick wash is sufficient for most of my needs. Although the manual was pretty basic, it was very easy to use.
The first point to note, is that the machine was VERY quiet. Even when it spins, it is rare to hear it when I am upstairs.
It has an uneven load spin detector, which sometimes causes the machine to stop the spin, leaving clothes wet. I guess this is to stop the machine damaging itself, but can be a little frustrating.
The controls are easy, but it can be difficult to see the LEDs in bright sunlight.
To conclude, for the money, this is an excellent machine, and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.
Our landloard cursed us with this machine about a month ago. From the very first load it would not spin either at the end or during the wash meaning washing regularly came out soapy and soaked.
After reporting it to comet for repair, they have replaced the PCB (programme control board) and it now appears to work correctly. It appears that these machines are being sold with a known fault in the PCB software that causes the machine to believe the ... ...may be possible to tell which version of the software your machine has. Before ours was "repaired" the ECO button had options for 1:3 1:2 3:4 and Full. After the new PCB was installed we were told this would change to L1, L2, L3, L4 and A which it has. If your machine has the old set of ECO options and it fails to spin regularly you definately need a replacement PCB.
Even after the repair I do not like this machine very much. The wash options are ...

If you have nothing better to do than try to balance your washing load so that it does not come out sopping wet, this is the machine for you. You'll have heaps of fun re-spinning your washing in the hope that after the 11ths spin cycle it 'might' come out damp enough to dry traditionally within 3-5 days. Even though technical support were very helpful and prompt answering the phone, thats not use when your washing is only half done. No more small washes with this machine as it will onlt spin when the drum is full. And guess what? Even when the drum is full, and it does manage to complete a spin cycle (not often) your washing will STILL come out wringing wet - might be an idea to purchase a separate spin dryer or better still and mangle - cos thats the only way you'll get damp washing with this baby!

I heard the sales spiel ' Established brand in other markets, excellent reliability, value for money, bound to go up in price as word spreads......'
Wrong.
It's a dog. A complete and utter, unadulterated lemon. Junk.
It tangles clothes into a small hard ball every time there is anything like a pillowcase available.
It washes poorly and, most annoying of all it NEVER completes a spin cycle first time - claiming that the load is unbalanced. It even does this when set off empty.
I'm calling Comet out to it weekly in the hope that they'll get fed up and offer me a refund or a decent amount off a washing machine that does the job.
Avoid it like the plague.

I work for Comet in the service department (fault reporting, booking engineers etc) and we have had no end of trouble with these appliances. Most of their washing machines are fitted with a faulty control board which stops the machine doing its final spin properly and shows UNB in the display - If you have this problem then its not normal and they will fix it for you! Hundreds of appliances have got this fault, we even stopped delivering them at one point! If youre thinking of buying one, some advice is: DONT!

Advantages: does a quick wash in less that half an hour Disadvantages: won't spin properly unless full load
...had never actually heard of Haier washing machines before, but had a lot of fun bidding for it. I had already been told that appliances bought of an auction site, would probably have a bit of damage to them. When the machine arrived I found one small dint in the side, which when it was in situ couldn't be seen, so I was happy with it.
The appearance of the machine is good, it is silver and fits in with any decor. There is quite a large range of ... ...speeds, the top one being 1400.
The first wash I did I was extremely pleased with. I just used quick wash and the clothes came out clean and well spun. The next was I did was not a full load and when i got the clothes out they were absolutely dripping wet. I tried to spin them again and they still came out soaking. After a few attempts I found that the clothes will not spin properly unless there is a full load. This can be a good thing in some ways ...
