Advantages: Good range of heat settings. Cold shot. ?Ionic technology. Long lead. Disadvantages: Large and heavy to use. A bit noisy.
I was deeply sceptical about the "ionic technology". The idea is that static electricity (which can make hair bush out) is not built up by this drier so your hair lies smoother on your head. Whatever the drier emits when the blue button is pressed, I do think that it (or something) makes my hair less flyaway. You can switch it off if you like.
There are 3 heat levels and 3 fan speeds. The "cold shot" is useful for helping to set a style before venturing ... ...and dries hair quickly but inevitably, given its power, is a bit noisy. The long lead makes it relatively easy to look in a mirror when drying hair. Unfortunately the dryer is a lot larger and heavier than my old Braun, which doesn't have a direct replacement, so it's less comfortable to use and takes up more storage space. For travel I prefer something smaller, lighter and quieter. However as a home drier I would recommend it. ...
Advantages: Reliable, sturdy hair dryer with a good length guarantee Disadvantages: Mine's about to pass its guarantee
...£20. Even at £25 the BaByliss Elegance is well worth the money, comparing admirably to dryers of twice the cost. The 2000w dryer has three heat settings and two speeds. I find that I prefer the middle heat setting as the lower is quite cool and the higher can burn my scalp if pointed at the same place for too long! As with many dryers this one comes with a cool shot button. I've never really found a use for such a thing in my day to day life, but ... ...the mood. My hair is currently about chin length but around the time of our wedding was over half way down my back. The dryer coped with the long hair beautifully. I spend a lot less time drying my hair when I have my dryer than when I've been borrowing my mother-in-law or mother's hair dryers on trips to their respective homes. This dryer is also proud of ionic technology which I found very interesting when I was considering the dryer. This is supposed ...
Advantages: powerful, ion diffuser, quick drying time Disadvantages: quite big and heavy
...finally got my own. The Vidal Sassoon Vs514 hairdryer.
I have to admit at first i didnt use it because it was huge and quite heavy compared to previous hairdryers id used but I started to give it another go and I have never gone back
You do get used to the weight of it but there so much power that now its understandable. I have quite thick hair and it dries my whole head in about 15 minutes.
It even has an added feature that other dryers dont ... ...compared tomy VS dryer and took twice as long which made me appreciate mine. I got the Vidal Sassoon dryer for christmas but I think it cost about £35 which sounds a lot but it is definitely worth the money. Not really suitable for kids though due to the weight ...
Advantages: Lots of settings to suit everyone, good at taming frizz Disadvantages: Bulky, especially with the attachments.
Fantastic value for money and nice ergonomic design. Attachments are a concentrator nozzle for straightening and a diffuser for drying without frizzing. Three temperature settings, two speeds, a turbo and a cool button. The hanging loop is great for storing, and the cord is 2m long, which is great if you need to move a lot to dry your hair! This hairdryer does successfully reduce frizz, but can take a long time to dry hair if you want the frizz-free ...
Advantages: Quick Easy and mega shiny hair! Disadvantages: no cool shot button
I got this hairdryer as a christmas present and at first was dubious at what it could do for my long thick hair which is neither straight nor curly, it claimed that due to the silk protein capsules the heat was actually good for your hair! I was used to spending a long time drying and then straightening my hair to tame it so when I used this hairdryer for the first time I was stunned at the results. The capsules are easy to use and last up to 30 ... ...dry naturally for a bit and so do not use it for 30 minutes at once but have found that if the capsule is put back in its wrapper it is effective for a second use. The hairdryer comes with 2 nozzles, one for normal and one to hold a capsule, and a pack of 4 capsules. It has 3 heat settings and 2 speeds with a turbo button (although it is advised in instructions not to use this with capsules) With the hairdryer selling at about £35 and a pack of six ...
