Ionic technology - believe it or not? Advantages: Good range of heat settings. Cold shot. ?Ionic technology. Long lead. Disadvantages: Large and heavy to use. A bit noisy. I was deeply sceptical about the "ionic technology". The idea is that static electricity (which can make hair bush out) is not built up by this drier so your hair lies smoother on your head. Whatever the drier emits when the blue button is pressed, I do think that it (or something) makes my hair less flyaway. You can switch it off if you like. There are 3 heat levels and 3 fan speeds.The "cold shot" is useful for helping to set a style before venturing ... ...and dries hair quickly but inevitably, given its power, is a bit noisy. The long lead makes it relatively easy to look in a mirror when drying hair. Unfortunately the dryer is a lot larger and heavier than my old Braun, which doesn't have a direct replacement, so it's less comfortable to use and takes up more storage space. For travel I prefer something smaller, lighter and quieter. However as a home drier I would recommend it. ... A Gift for your hair! Straightens and shines in minutes. Advantages: Blower nozzle as it straightens and dries in no time at all Disadvantages: nop. Bought as a gift by my ex boyfriend and it has lasted well. You can use either the straightening "diffuser" but I prefer the Blower nozzle as it straightens and dries in no time at all! To do a full head, its really quick too and its a nice aubergine colour to and looks nice in my bedroom. Use with Lee Stafford Poker Straight Mist and away you go! Not the easiest to use but good finished result. Advantages: Quick. Natural finish. Disadvantages: Difficult to use. Does not achieve poker straight results. I have long, thick wavy hair which I usually straighten every day. Drying and straightening is very time consuming and I often end up just tying my hair back to avoid all of the hassle. This seemed like the perfect solution to dry and straighten my hair quickly. The results were satisfactory though not amazing, my hair was not as straight or sleek as if it had been straightened. I had to flick the ends under slightly as it would not make my hair ... ...natural look that you are going for then this would be great for you. I towel dries my hair first before a rough dry without the nozzle, this speeded up the process. It was definately quicker than drying and straigtening and is suitable for those who feel that they have too much hair. However, my sister, whose hair is more frizzy than mine found it difficult to use. Now initially I was surprised as I thought the whole point was to dry and not hydrate the hair and I also had connotations of having to put water in the device; and we all know that electricity and water generally do not mix! My fears were soon allayed when I discovered that the 'hydration' is achieved by the hairdryer mixing negative charged ions with the warm air stream which not ... ...I'm aware is unique to Vidal Sassoon, and it works. Not only does the hair look and feel better but it also dries significantly faster with the ions turned on than without. Remington Professional Ionic 2000w hair dryer = must have!!! Advantages: Long lead, ionic, 2 heat and speed settings. Disadvantages: bit big! (but light to hold) attachments are similar size and shape! Bought the Remington Professional Ionic 2000w hair dryer a few weeks ago after my hair dryer broke and i love it already!!! i have very fine hair and am sooo pleased that this hair dryer (because of the ionic) does not cause my hair to frizz up or go static, which other hair dryers have done in the past!
