Perfect straightener for your everyday needs!
Advantages: Colour, accessories, performance Disadvantages: None so far
I was looking for a new straightener, one that would actually keep my hair straight AND give my hair a nice shine as well as keeping it conditioned. I was looking at a GHD straightener, however, I saw this straightener in Argos reduced from the reduced price of £79 odd to £31.32. There and then I knew that was the straightener for me!!
What you get
You get one blueberry straightener, a heatproof mat, blueberry clutch bag, instruction leaflet ... ...to 230 degrees *Advanced Ceramics for ultra fast heat up and heat recovery *3 temperature settings *1 Inch nano titanium ceramic plates *Ionic *Multi-voltage for worldwide use *3m salon length swivel cord *25% longer plates

You have a silver switch on the inside of the straighteners where you can select one of three temperatures. A red and blue light will come on, and 15 seconds later you're ready to go! During these 15 seconds, ...

Good budget Straighteners
Advantages: Heat quickly, good performance, nice budget pair Disadvantages: Results not as good as expensive ones
...until I came across the Babyliss 2025HU professional slim ceramic straightening iron on Amazon. With an RRP of £19.99 I only actually paid a partial £12.99 for these and as they were quite cheap they seemed to fit the bill in case I was to lose them on holiday. Of course they do not give me the same performance as my Remington straighteners but as they cost a whole £50 less I never expected them to.
One of the problems I’ve had in the past is the ... ...anything to my hair. My hair can be quick think and curls quite a bit if it dries when it is wet. So I was quite surprised that these reached a temperature that not only got to grips with the thickness of my hair but also got hot enough to give me a finished result I was very happy with.
It normally takes me about 15 minutes for these to really do the job on my hair. At times I wish I hate my friend Lindsey’s hair as hers is always done so much ...

Truly amazing
Advantages: Time to heat up, Cordless, Smoothness of plates Disadvantages: Can be too hot when its near 230°
...are very smooth and as Babyliss describe it - they are DEFINATLY salon performance. They are also quite wide which allows more hair to be striaghtened at any time.
The timing for the plates to heat up is VERY QUICK, about 20 seconds or so to heat up.
These straightners are also very good for curling hair if your the person who knows how to curl hair with straightners.
Overall, it is definately worth purchasing these straightners. I got then for ...

LET ME TELL IT STRAIGHT!
Advantages: Price, Heat, Worldwide use Disadvantages: Can't think of one
...cheaper brands. I chose the Babyliss Pro Straight 220 ceramic with worldwide use for 3 reasons a) they were a fraction of the cost of the GHD's b) they were ceramic plates and c) because they can be used worldwide unlike my previous GHD's which to my distress did not work in the US. These have two temperatures, get as hot as the GHD's and are light weight with a swivel cord so no danger of entanglement! These have a foam grip around the hottest parts ...

Its Portable but is it practical
Advantages: cordless, inexpensive Disadvantages: not hot enough, catches hair
Babyliss Portability
I have probably mentioned before that I couldn't live without my GHDs,- best straighteners I've ever tried but they are too expensive to throw in your bag or leave in work. I was also wary about taking them on holiday in case they blew upburnt out with the voltage change (I really love my GHDs and this did happen to my friends dryer in the Canaries)
Last summer in Boots sale I found a cordless version of the Babyliss straighteners ... ...gas like in the old braun curling tongs) and thought they'd be ideal for holidays or leaving in my drawer at work the rest of the year in case I got caught in the rain. The silver, black and white packaging looked quite upmarket and the front proclaimed High temperature Ceramic coated plates for an ultra smooth finish and the reduced price of £9.99 swung it for me as I could pay that for lunch somedays.
Another important note on the box was "Approved ...
