My essential hair straightener Advantages: Gets hair straight but not flat and lifeless, straightness lasts Disadvantages: the plates can get holes burnt in them very easily ...one I bought was this Babyliss 2032. The straightener is quite thick and bulky to use, and may make your hand ache as a result, as you might need to press the plates together quite hard and for a long period, depending on the length and thickness of your hair. It has a water tank that you fill to produce steam as you are straightening, to protect your hair. The plates are not solid ceramic themselves, but they are ceramic coated. Babyliss Hair Straightners Advantages: Great for a novice like me! Disadvantages: Take a while to heat to full temperature These are the first hair straightners that I have bought as previously I had thought them too expensive and had no idea how to use them properly. I got mine in a package with a hair dryer and beauty set at a fantastic price and thought I'll use the hair dryer if nothing else! To be honest I have only used the slim plates, it comes with crimping plates and wide plates, but have found it so easy to use, I'm hopeless at getting my hair to look the ... ...come pretty close with these! The power cord it really long to give you plenty of space and does not tangle easily and there is a non-slip/soft grip type material on the outside of the barrel so you can feel where your hair is supposed to go. It's really nice have an on and an off switch so you can get them ready for use but not waste power heating them before you are ready. Better than GHD's Advantages: Hot, quick heat up Disadvantages: not cordless I got these straighteners last year, but i wanted GHD's, however, i can say these are better in my opinion as my hair stays straight. The heat can go up to 220 degrees but you can choose which heat you want very easily. They heat up quickly and even though they take a while to cool down, if you wrap them in the heat protection mat they are fine. A lot of people i know have had GHD's for less than a year, I've had these babylis pro 230 for over a ... ...don't have to pay a fortune for good hair straighteners. My hair is really curly and quite thick and it takes about 15mins to have it pin straight. I've never seen Babyliss Pro 1½ inch Pivot Straighteners in the shops. Only online. You can now buy them for £25 on Ukhairdresser.com, which is an absolute bargain. * The look and features * Babyliss Pro 1½ inch Pivot Straighteners are red with black trims and buttons. There's the on and off button ... ...When I started using the Babyliss Pro 1½ inch Pivot Straighteners, it gets my hair lovely, straight and smooth.
