Nicky Clarke made me a yummy mummy Advantages: long flex, different heat settings Disadvantages: none as yet ...Amazon website and chose the Nicky Clarke NCS68 straighteners. Why these? After reading about a few different ones I felt these offered the best value for money (added bonus of having £15 off as well!!) So paid £19.99 for these including free delivery. They arrived well packaged and with simple instructions. They have a fantastic long cable so you don't have to position your mirror right above your socket. Variable heat setting for thick or fine ... ...panic when driving to work of "Did I turn the straighteners off?" Some fancy ionic plates - which I think somehow prevents hair damage although my hair does feel dry if I use for a few days on the trot. Safety catch so you can close them if travelling. Salon straightening at home!!!!! Advantages: Perfect results everytime. Disadvantages: very little, and very few. The Nicky Clarke NCS75 also goes by the name "pro ceramic worldwide straightener" because it has a worldwide voltage, suitable for use in any country. I personally tested it out, and it worked fine in the middle of Asia as well as the middle of London! -PRICE- It's RRP is £35.00, but my advice is go to Argos, they have it on sale quite often, and to my fury, it once went down to £15, just after I bought it at ammuch higher price. So keep an eye ... ...and turns. The Nicky Clarck logo is at the "hinge" part of the straightener where it opens ansd closes, and is beared in a circle shape as part of the design. -THE TECHNOLOGY- "High performance ceramic technology", It's the only printed text on the straightener, which shows just how important it is for the manufacture to advertise that the plates are solid ceramic. The solid ceramic technology means that both plates heat up quickly and evenly ... Straight out of the hairdressers! Advantages: Good Value for Money Disadvantages: Can get hot I purchased these Nicky Clarke hair straighteners for my sister a couple of Christmases ago, as she asked for them and they were on offer (under £30) out of Boots. She said they were the best hair straighteners that she has - and she's always using hair straighteners on her hair. I decided then that it was time to start looking after my own hair and I bought myself a pair. They have been the best investment I have ever made. There is an indicator ... ...is also a number indicator (1-9) for the heat range it can go to. I usually have mine between 4 and 5 and spend 10- 15 minutes on my hair every morning. They are light, and glide through the hair quite easily (I was always put off with hair straighteners before thinking that they would hurt my hair!). They are also not too bulky so are quite easy to pack into a bag if you are travelling. Three plates from heaven.... Advantages: Three plates, holds more hair. Disadvantages: bulky, a bit expensive ...as quick as 5 seconds. Nicky Clarke pulses do just that they heat up in 5 secs and go to as hot as 200 degrees. The Brilliantness about these straightners are they have three (yes i do mean three) ceramic plates, evening the hair and enabling you to straighten more hair, while shortening the time. I am probably like most people and hate spending a lot of time doing my hair (mainly due to having a three year old daughter) and needs something that ... ...hair quicker and with the Nicky Clarke pulse 3 plates, it holds three times as more hair. Price: My friend brought these from boots for 80 pounds, which is alot of money and there are cheaper straighteners out there making it a hard decision to make.
