GHDs win again! Advantages: great for short hair, or creating funky corkscrew curls. Disadvantages: pricey, and similar to other GHDs As with all GHDs this product is top of the market for what it does...these smaller irons are designed for really short hair and generally i just use them mainly on men. The slim iron means no finger burning when trying to straighten really short hair. The beach curls I wanted Advantages: Does create good curls Disadvantages: Difficult to use ...few weeks later I recieved Babyliss You Curls for my birthday, and I was excited to try them out! They come in a sleek black box with a picture of them women on the front sporting the exact curls I wanted! On the back is a step by step instruction of how to achieve these curls, after a quick look I decided it seemed easy enough. Pulling out the curlers they looked quite odd! They were similar to straightners with the metal silver plates to put your ... ...the edge and around. Although they looked odd I thought they seemed quite funky! Plugging them in and you'll find you can set the tempreture to whatever you want I didnt set it to high as my hair is quite thin. Then it'll beep to let you know it's reached the tempreture. Smooth or curls? You choose! Advantages: Very portable can use it anywhere, tried and tested Disadvantages: Need to purchase refills I have been using Braun gas powered styling wands for more years than I care to remember - having been born with straight hair (and having a mother who really wanted me to have curls) over the years I have spent time and money trying to introduce a 'bend' into it. Not for me the tight curls I had as a child (courtesy of my mother perming it on a regular basis) nor is the straight hair so popular these days. BraunGCS 70 Style N'GO - GREAT HAIR TOOL Advantages: quick, easy to use, light weight, no trailing flex Disadvantages: Cost of cartridges Have used these Braun stylers for about 20 years and always found them excellent - easy to use , they do what they say they do and the barrel is easy to clean when it becomes sticky with styling product . They are easy to carry about and have a safety cover which holds the 'off' button in place and is heat-proof. They are light weight to use and have the advantage of no trailing wire as with electricty powered tongs. MAGIC WAND!! Advantages: Natural looking curls, long wire, freebie gloves n mat! Disadvantages: a few burns when learning!!! Well where do i start!!!??? I call this my MAGIC WAND!!! Iv'e searched everywhere for THE perfect curling device. I'm very picky when it comes to curls!!! don't like them too tight like a poodle, or too spirally, or too 'old fashioned' Iv'e tried many many devices...tongs, curlers, bendy things, rags, even the mighty GHD straighteners that curl!!!! but nothing can compare to this little beauty. I spotted it in a magazine....it claimed to make natural ... ...curls all the way around your head making you look like a perfect little angel!! so of course they went on my birthday wish list!!! and at a total of £30 they were a bargain!!!
