BraunGCS 70 Style N'GO - GREAT HAIR TOOL
Advantages: quick, easy to use, light weight, no trailing flex Disadvantages: Cost of cartridges
Have used these Braun stylers for about 20 years and always found them excellent - easy to use , they do what they say they do and the barrel is easy to clean when it becomes sticky with styling product .
They are easy to carry about and have a safety cover which holds the 'off' button in place and is heat-proof. They are light weight to use and have the advantage of no trailing wire as with electricty powered tongs.
I find that these tongs last ... ...I have is that up to about 1O years ago you could refill them with a can of lighter fuel, which was obviously much cheaper, but I suppose Braun thought about that and decided it was better for THEM if they sold disposable cartridges, which, I think are vastly over-priced. ...

Smooth or curls? You choose!
Advantages: Very portable can use it anywhere, tried and tested Disadvantages: Need to purchase refills
I have been using Braun gas powered styling wands for more years than I care to remember - having been born with straight hair (and having a mother who really wanted me to have curls) over the years I have spent time and money trying to introduce a 'bend' into it.
Not for me the tight curls I had as a child (courtesy of my mother perming it on a regular basis) nor is the straight hair so popular these days. I like a little 'bend' just enough to ... ...So, as my old Braun was loooking a little tired, I went out seeking a replacement. My wanderings took me into Curry's where they were offering the Braun Smoothstyler C31S for just £12.99 - the shelf edge label suggested this was 'half price' and I never can resist a bargain!
The box comes complete with the styler, cover, styling brush a small and a large gas refill and a small and large handle to suit the gas refills - which is pretty good value ...

Great quality styler
Advantages: cordless, long lasting, good quality, good results Disadvantages: water reservoir is a bit small
...friend kindly bought me the Braun c20s as a birthday gift. Since it's lasted me so well, I thought I'd better review it!
A few months ago, my sister moved away and wanted one of her own - I didn't know if it would still be available, but phew! it is - it's now called the Braun smoothstyler - the same thing but probably slightly different looking, and possibly improved.
What you get
The instructions (description, instructions for inserting ... ...the steam function, switching it on and tips and instructions for styling and steaming). I like the fact that the instructions have diagrams with text underneath - it's easier to understand.
A brush attachment
The styler
A plastic cover that clips over the styler
2 energy cells (I'm glad they don't make you buy them separately)
The Perks
It's cordless - I've used it on the go quite a few times with no disasters (other than people in the ...

Brown Smoothstyler
Advantages: Fast curls, compact, heat resistant cover Disadvantages: Hard to see how much energy is left and still need hairspray
Braun Smoothstyler is a compact and easy to use cordless hair styler it retails from £9.99 to £20. It has a slim barrel create smaller curls and also comes with a styling brush attachement. It is a ceramic styler heated by the use of energy cells (retailed at aprox 3.99 for 4). It has a fill level indicator, however I found it hard to tell when it was full and whether it needed replacing. It has a heat resistant cover which is very useful as it means ... ...to wait too long. It is pretty easy to use considering that I had never curled my hair and I have very long hair. You will still need to use hair spray to make sure your curls don't fall out of place. This product is easy to use and creates lasting curls (with the help of hair spray) in a fast and effective way. The 9.99 price tag quoted is from electrocare-uk.com ...

Stopped working after a year
Advantages: Cordless, you can take it anywhere Disadvantages: You have to keep buying Gas
...one. The predecessor to the Braun C20 and I loved it, but me being me, when I saw a slightly better more up to date one a few years later, I just had to have it.
Who are Braun?
Braun has been around since 1921, when Prussian born Max Braun established a small engineering firm in Frankfurt. Over the years they have made all sorts of grooming products including electric toothbrushes, hairdryers, and other hair care products.
