Hairtools - a god-send

Advantages: Effective, cheaper than other brands, compact design
Disadvantages: Plates tend to get quite dirty

...goes by the name of Hairtools Thermo Ceramic Hair Straighteners, what a mouthful! Try saying that when you’ve had a few bevvies. Now before the hordes of GHD worshippers start on the defence, just hear me out.

Left to its own devices my hair is quite straight anyway, with a few little kinks on the ends and at the bottom of layers. I did own a pair of straighteners that used steam but never seemed to get the effect I wanted so I left ...
...the handle, there is the Hairtools logo, also in beige. The measurements are roughly 2.5cm width by 20cm long; this is slightly smaller than other straighteners which gives you more control with styling all of your hair – including the roots! Hairtools claim that the straighteners have “an ergonomic, lightweight design and Slim-Line Plates” and I must say, I agree with this! They fit in your hand very easily and are simple to clamp your hair with ... more

Perfection for fine wavy hair

Advantages: Easy to use, light to hold and absolutely splendiforous
Disadvantages: none

I first came across these straighteners at my local hairdressers after weeks of toying with the idea of buying some. I have fine shoulder length hair with a slight wave, and was a bit concerned about using metal hair straighteners as my hair seems to fall out like there’s no tomorrow as it is, and I felt that they might be a bit heavy. A few of my friends had paid a ridiculous amount for Toni and Guy straighteners and they were quite heavy. After ...
...from my hairdresser I parted with my £50. After leaving with my newly purchased hair straighteners (and straight hair that the hairdresser had done for me) I went home and washed my hair again, because you just have to don't you! I then dried my hair, but to be honest my hairdresser told me to leave it so that it isn't bone dry but still slightly damp (not really damp just cool if you know what I mean). All of the other opinions on ciao say your ...

Brilliant Budget Hair Straighteners

Advantages: work brilliantly, don't damage hair
Disadvantages: none

...I chose was Hairtools. Hairtools ceramic straighteners are not the most expensive on the market, retailing at many online stores for around £50. GHD (Good Hair Day) ones, which many people swear by, are around £80, making the Hairtools ones very reasonable indeed. At first I thought this must mean they're no good, but after chatting to a hairdresser mate who told me that she found them equally effective in every way, I plumped for the cheaper option ...
...They are amazing. Hairtools ceramic straighteners are much quicker to use than the old steam ones too. Whereas it used to take me about 40-45 minute with my steam ones, my Hairtools ones take 20 minutes tops, and I have a LOT of hair to get through. If you want to, you can create a flick or a curl-under at the ends by tilting the straighteners when you get to that bit. For best results, straighteners should be used with a straightening product. ...

Straight Strands, Perfect Price

Advantages: Makes my hair perfectly straight
Disadvantages: Like all hair straighteners, it damages

...when I came across the Hairtools Ceramic Straighteners. At ukhairdressers.com they were just £39 with free delivery. They had everything I wanted. Ceramic plates, 8 second heating and adjustable temperature. I snapped them up in an instant and within 6 days they were mine. (I ordered them on a Thursday, they arrived the following Wednesday.) But you can get next day delivery for just £5 On the Wednesday evening there they were lying on my bed, neatly ...
...I came across were 2 sheets of paper. One was a form for warranty; the other was safety instructions complete with tips on use. It was shown how to achieve straight styles, curls or flicks just with this one amazing tool. The next thing I did was taking the actual straighteners out of their box. The first thing I noticed was how long the cord was, due to the fact that these are professional salon straighteners. The actual appliance itself is black ...

What Bad Hair Day?

Advantages: 4 heat settings, lightweight, very cheap, plus they work!
Disadvantages: Plates tend to need cleaning.

I love these straighteners! When I was looking to buy ceramic straighteners I wasn't sure if I should buy these or not. The reason I doubted them was that they are really cheap compared to other ceramic straighteners on the market, so I was quite vary of them being effective. But I wasn't prepared to pay £80+ for ghd and the reviews on Ciao were excellent, so I just went for it! I've never looked back since. I bought mine from www.retailjunky.com. ...
...£2.95 p&). Most other sites, including www.asos.com have them at £55, so it's still reasonably cheap. Mine arrived within a week and I could not wait to use them! They must be better than my BaByliss ones - anything had to be better than them! I have to say that I was not let down. It took about 10-15 seconds to heat them up. There are 4 heat settings as follows: Setting A: Max 190C Setting B: Max 175C Setting C: Max 160C Setting D: Max 150C ...

Saks Professional Hair Straighteners

Advantages: Quick and easy to use, straight and sleek results
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, over use can damage hair.

For years I have bought a variety of hair straighteners, including Babyliss & Braun. All of which have had no desired effect on my hair. In fact, all the Babyliss ones did was warm my hair up a bit. A complete disappointment. I was talking to a friend about this, and she recommended a new pair of hair straighteners from Saks Hair & Beauty Salon. What a wonderful recommendation!! Saks is a chain of Hair & Beauty salons which are present all over the ...
...where the nearest salon to you is. Anyway, to the straighteners! Saks hair straighteners have long been used by professionals, and are acknowledged as being the best in the business. Celebrity users include Destiny's Child, Geri Halliwell & Atomic Kitten. Saks hair straighteners use ceramic plates, which means that the heat applied is even, making straightening easier and faster. They come in 3 different sizes, these being as follows: Micro : £75 ...

Keeping you on the straight and narrow

Advantages: Super sleek shiny straight hair
Disadvantages: Availability

.edirectory.co.uk www.ejmailorder.co.uk Prices vary slightly, and there is the cost of postage and packaging if ordered over the Internet. Expect to pay anywhere between £85.00 and £99.00. Again, because I didn?t purchase mine over the Internet, I can?t give you delivery times, but I have noticed that it varies from site to site ? the average being at least a week. If you think that you can get them cheaper, then you must make sure that they are proper GHD straighteners and not the Hairtools ones, which are often advertised as being GHD style ceramic straighteners (style being the appropriate word ? they look virtually identically but the ceramic technology is slightly different (more about that later)). Hairtools ceramic straighteners are in the region of £45.00 to £55.00. PACKAGING Well, they come in a predominantly white box, with four ...

Review of GHD Salon Styler - Hair Straightener

My hairy tale

Advantages: Two different plates allow normal straightening and flicks
Disadvantages: Not hot enough, catches and pulls out hair, delicate

. Also, after 3 months of using the straighteners twice a week-ish, the catch that holds them together broke. I thought that clip was a good idea, avoiding burning the surface they were on, and retaining heat. Eventually, I decided that these were useless and I would be better off getting some newer, perhaps less well known, but better quality straighteners. The Vidal Sassoons didn't get hot enough, broke easily and were generally badly designed. I am now purchasing the Hairtool Ceramics which seem more substantial and have good reviews. I don't recommend these 2 in 1s at all, you're better off searching the internet for good reviews and good deals on straightforward straighteners. Hope this helps! :-D Hey, and retain your receipt and guarantee, I can't swap mine because they were a present and so had no receipt! ...
