Thirteen-year-old criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl has constructed a supercomputer from stolen fairy technology. In the wrong hands, it could be fatal for humans and fairies alike. But no need to worry, Artemis has a brilliant plan. He's not going to use the computer; he's just going to show it to a ruthless American businessman with Mafia connections. His bodyguard, Butler, will be with him. What could possibly go wrong...?
Advantages: Really funny, beautiful covers, easy to spark the imagination Disadvantages: still waiting for the next book!!!
...From the very start of this book I was fixated, I couldn't put it down, I read it at night before bed and often ended up getting late to bed from reading too much, I got the first 3 books as a gift and I was really grateful. Artemis is a young and devious boy who has a plan to steal fairy gold, he decodes their language, manages to capture a fairy, kills a troll and even manages to get hold of fairy technology which he then uses to steal a jewelled crown.
The adventures are intriguing and the detail given would make you think that EoinColfer knows that fairies and trolls really do exist!!!!!
The fairies in the story are desperately trying to get Artemis to forget they exist any they can so that he can no longer threaten to tell the world they exist but he, as always, has a plan and escapes their brain wash only to start...

Advantages: Fast-paced, original, great imagination, follows on well. Disadvantages: I found none.
...This is the fifth book in the Artemis Fowl series. For those who do not know the Artemis Fowl books are centered around a teenage boy with a brilliant mind who has discovered a world of fairies beneath the Earth's surface. Your first thought might be that this sounds like a book for toddlers, but EoinColfer explores the mind of an adolescent who has moral and ethical issues very well while keeping his books witty, interesting and action-packed. Cliched as this sounds but I could not put any of his books down.
In the fifth book in this series Artemis Fowl undergoes an even more fantastical adventure and discovers a new type of fairy. Colfer keeps this book just as exciting and well written as the others while introducing many new themes, characters and ideas keeping the book interesting even if you have read the others. Artemis Fowl...

Advantages: everything- fast-paced, hilarious, action packed! Disadvantages: too hard to put the book down!!!!!!!!!
...many then your wrong its so simple to understand and yet such a complex plot! If you feel that this is not challenging enough for you then read it for fun! you will gain experience, something to talk about to all your friends and best of all i great read that will grab you from the start!
This review is similar to my review on the fourth Artemis fowl book- the eternity code- but basically you will encounter things ranging from teenage criminal masterminds to fairies known as lep officers.
So in conclusion if you want a wacky book that will keep you quiet for a while then buy this as it really is another superb title from Eoincolfer, also do not be put off by the suggested age range or the length of the book as that does not matter so again go out there and BUY IT!!!!
