Halford's is the shop I've been going to ever since passing my test and got my first beloved car (Renault Clio).
As i walk into Halford's i always get excited because I'm a car fanatic and always have been since childhood. There's just so much to do with cars under one roof from car parts and spares such as bulbs, wiper blades and batteries etc, including stuff Ive never even heard of myself ha ha.
As I'm quite young and this is my first car i wanted to do a bit to it to make it look nicer though I'm not a boy racer as you would appear to think. (I Just like the physical looks, more the aesthetics side of it)
When i go to Halford's i usually find that that the customer service is very good (when you can actually get a member of staff that's free), they always appear to be busy or with someone else, which is agitating at the best of times just having to wait about, though i usually just head off and occupy myself, checking out other car products which could be next on my list, when i have the money of course as unfortunately my current job doesn't do me the best of favours ha.
One thing i love about Halford's is the fact they have a massive selection of car audio from Speakers and Sub Woofers to amplifiers and CD players some now incorporated with slide out DVD players (very fancy!!) though steep in price unless you get lucky when they are on offer.
I recently bought a pair of parcel shelf speakers from a brand I'd never heard of called 'Infinity' as i was recommended them more so than the bigger well know brand of JBL which i was eying up previously for £60 a pair. These 'Infinity Reference' speakers were just £25 on sale (normally retailing at £85) i thought to myself WOW! you don't get this often and as he spoke highly of them i purchased them and I'm so pleased i did, they sound fantastic, really complimenting my Sony CD player I also bought from Halford's a while before. They give a real loud and crisp sound and for that price, what a bargain!
As you walk around the Halford's store you will realize that there's always a lot of offers on, though none that appealing on the more expensive products as they don't come down to much, still leaving you short changed ha ha. Having said that, you can always get a great deals on some of the smaller sales such as things ranging from car air fresheners to ice scrapers and storage bags, chamois, the heap of all your car essentials. You normally find they have been reduced to a good price or on some sort of two for offer.
Not only do Halford's stock all your car essentials and standard products but they also have a section of interior and exterior styling for your car with items such as neon's of all sizes and colours and prices for that matter, to others such as chrome door sills and Sun Strips. There's actually quite a lot of customizable products in they're range.
As I've mentioned a heap about cars it's worth pointing out that Halford's have sections for other vehicles such as Motorbikes and Caravans, with a section for Camping and all the essentials that come with a night out in the woods (have your flashlight on the ready!) ha.
Now that I've covered the ground area its time to move up to the 1st floor which is the 'Bike Hut' with bikes starting off for the little rascals in colourful designs and themes to keep them smiling while staying fit i may add. They then have bikes ranging from teenagers right up to the adult sized bikes, with frames and wheel sizes varying throughout. A lot of the prices are reasonable for the standard bikes though and i think they build your chosen bike for you and give it a quality check before you 'ride' away. Then you get performance and racing bikes at the top of they're range which i was shocked at some of the prices well in the 1000's (don't come cheaply these days do they), for that price, I'd expect the bike to quench my thirst when i need it and tell me to go that extra mile ha ha. The Bike Hut also has all of your bike accessories from front and rear lights to high visible vests, really important for night!, to locks and gloves for off roading etc.
I'd say in my opinion Halford's is a great shop, though the prices in general can be quite steep and if you like your products cheaper then its maybe advised to visit your local garage or other auto shop. Some bulbs i find are ridiculously priced at like £10 for one main beam light and you could go to your local garage and get for like £3!!
