I have been a happy Halifax Credit card customer for a number of years the (classic card). The Cash back option on the card really interested me. Getting money back instead of points for stuff I didn’t really want. So, I converted my old classic card to the Cash back card and everything went swimmingly well. Nine months passed and as each statement came through I could see my cash back accumulating quite nicely.
However, I get a statement through and no cash back has been accumulated for the last month, so a call to customer services to check why. I get to speak to someone fairly quickly, and I am assured that it will be all sorted for next month. It’s just a minor computer glitch.
A month passes by, the next bill arrives and yes you guessed it the cash back for this month and last month have still not been added so now I am owed two months worth of cash back. Another call to Customer Services, with apologies and all, I am assured it will be right for the next month, being a reasonable type of person I accept this.
My next Statement arrives and, surprise, surprise (its not a Cilla Black with my cash back) yet again my cash back has not been added for the last 3 months now. Yet another call to the wonderful customer service desk who politely tell me there is nothing they can do it will have to be dealt with by the credit card Cash back service desk. I Get the number call them and after speaking to three people and finally I am advised yet again that it will be sorted for next month, maybe I am cynical (who me…cant think why! Maybe I will be proved wrong next month, Yeah!).
Frankly, choose any other credit card at least they can count your cash back correctly, and sort out there computer problems in under 3 months. (Ever heard of backups?)
Hopefully, as a Christmas present I will get my cash back correctly in December, Santa Claus will fill my stocking, reindeer really can fly and the seat of our pants technology will be working very well at Halifax Credit Card Services.
