I have had a Halifax Web Saver account since it was first introduced online. It is the best account I have ever had. I chose it because i am the kind of person that uses the computer a lot and this appealed to me because of how much time I spend on the Internet. The first thing that made me think, “ I have to have that” was simply the fact that it was new, online and exciting.
When you sign up online you can choose to have the Web Saver account with or without a Cash card.
#With Cashcard#
You get the added advantage of a using a Cashcard in all link machines in UK. The only disadvantage is that the rate of interest on the account is slightly lower.
#Without A Cashcard#
You get all the standard online features and manage your account entirely online. The interest rate is higher than what it is with a Cashcard so you do benefit on interest, but personally I prefer to have a card to withdraw/deposit money using cash machines.
#The Web Saver Account#
The are lots of ways that you can manage your account. It is very easy to personalise it to suit your exact needs. If you have other Halifax accounts these can be added to your Web Saver Portfolio so you can access them online and view statements etc. Direct Debits and Standing Orders can be set up on your account if you require them. You can also transfer money between your accounts online or create transfers to other people i.e. your boyfriends/girlfriends account. You can only deposit money into these account of course, withdrawal is only available on accounts that you own personally.
#Web Saver Options#
Once in you account you can open up other little account within you own account called “Web Saver Options”. These you title yourself, for example “Spending Money” or “Mortgage”. These are in credibly useful if there a lots of things you need to manage.
#How It Fits In With Your Lifestyle#
I find the account very useful for everyday life. As a college student I need money regularly for food, bus fairs etc in the day. My Halifax Web Saver Account gives me everything I need instantly with ease. I have two accounts and I use the Web Saver as my main account and transfer money online on a weekly basis to my other spending account to cover expenses during the week.
If you are an organised person then you will definitely enjoy using this. Good luck with it, it’s worth it. Check out www.halifax-online.co.uk to get your own.

Advantages: Plenty of articles, has some messageboards, excellant quotes facilities Disadvantages: They've just ditched their Shares portfolio service, which was light years better than any similar service on the 'net
