I use Halifax online banking daily, I find it a complete god send to be able to switch on your computer and access your bank details from the comfort of your own home.
HOME PAGE
The homepage is very clear and you should be able to find the link for the service you require quickly and easily.
Halifax has a 1 page log in unlike other on line banks that often have 2 log in pages.
This doesn't deter me or make this site feel any less secure to me.
Log in requires your user name, password and the answer to a personal question, which you logged with them on signing up for your on line banking. This page is case sensitive.
MY ACCOUNTS.
When you have successfully signed in you are taken straight to MY ACCOUNTS. On this page you can display and manage all your accounts with Halifax.
You can make transfers between your Halifax accounts quickly and easily and most accounts transfer your money immediately. Some accounts like the Saver Reward can take up to 48 hours for the money to be transferred.
This page also gives you links to applying for further accounts and services (home insurance, credit cards, mortgage).
Bank statements and paper free documents can be accessed from this page.
Setting up standing orders and making payments is simple, go into the account you wish to make the payment from, select the option for transfers, direct debits, standing orders and pay bills and create the details for the payee. This really couldn't be made any easier to do.
I really like that you can manage your overdraft through MY ACCOUNTS page, this isn't always available to do in such a simple way with other banks.
Halifax times out after a period of inactivity, about 5 minutes I think.
MY OVERALL OPINION.
I currently have online banking with 3 different banks and Halifax online banking is by far the simplest and easiest to use, I find some of the other bank sites quite frustrating to use having to open up different windows for different requests.
I would recommend Halifax Online Banking, easy and straightforward to use.
Summary: thanks for reading.

Advantages: Plenty of articles, has some messageboards, excellant quotes facilities Disadvantages: They've just ditched their Shares portfolio service, which was light years better than any similar service on the 'net
