Advantages: It was local Disadvantages: Every other aspect of buying a property
I began dealing with Halifax Estate Agency Wolverhampton after applying for viewings of lots of properties on Rightmove. After applying for viewings with approx 15 different agents the Halifax were the only one that bothered to get back to me (but that is another review :-).
They arranged viewings on the properties I had asked for and then began to suggest other properties based on my criteria. Despite a couple of viewings that clearly lacked off-road ... ...of a chain so the Halifax Estate Agent said that we could complete quite quickly.
An offer was put forward in writing and after a week we were happy to learn that the offer had been accepted. This was until we received the notification of sale from Halifax who had added £3000 to our offer without our knowledge. I emailed Halifax who said that I had definitley confirmed the higher offer. I referred to the email I had sent them that clearly stated ...

Advantages: None at all Disadvantages: They just can't sell houses! Inefficient, rude, disorganised
...have plenty of experience of Halifax Property Services, and none of it good. We used Halifax for two separate sales, and other agents for the other two sales. In the worst case, we were impressed by the Halifax presentation, so signed up with them. We were told that several people from the office would come to measure up and take photos, so that the office staff would be familiar with the interior. The first appointment was not kept. Then *one* person ... ...for *very* long periods in Halifax windows - clearly they don't manage to sell very many, or at all quickly. But then, we've heard that Halifax goes for volume - numbers of properties - rather than turnover. Very strange, since they don't get paid if they don't sell.
A friend who bought his house via the Halifax had similar difficulties with phone calls not being returned and the agents really not doing any kind of a job in selling him the house. ...

Advantages: Can't think of one unless you like being ripped off Disadvantages: Everything haven't got one good thing to say about them
Please, please, please do not use the Halifax to sell your home. The only way i can describe our selling expereience with them is an absolute nightmare. We enlisted the Halifax to sell our house because we had our mortgage with them and so qualified for a discount-A very good marketing ploy on their part. We signed on the dotted line and our house went on the market, the sign went up straight away-Great everythings going fine or so we thought. We sat ... ...used to go into the Halifax once a week to ask them what they were actively doing to sell our house. They told us reduce it. Everytime we spoke to them it was always the same reduce it. Eventually we did reduce and got a letter from them saying all paperwork had been amended but when we looked on the estate agents window it was still at the old price. They sent viewers one weekend when i had rang and told them we were going away. We had just pulled ...

...us around was from the Halifax branch in Chineham and he advised to sell our house with the local branch to us otherwise we wouldn’t get the house.
I took his advice and a few days later, the local estate agent from the Halifax came and measured up. He took a few pictures with his digital and said I shouldn’t have any trouble selling, as this is a popular area.
I signed the agreement. What an idiot I was. It’s been a long time since I bought a ... ...them 2% anyway.
The Halifax also has one of the longest tie in periods, 4 months! Be warned.
There is no way they will have a penny from us and I am counting the days until the agreement finishes. They have only sent around two people to view, one of which didn’t speak much English.
I found that very rude as the family spoke only in Punjabi and I hadn’t a clue what they were saying. My little boy is very honest and approached them saying “ Please ...

...got off the phone with Halifax Estate Agent in Barnehurst, Kent. I am so annoyed and fuming I felt I had to write it down. For my sins I signed with them 5 weeks ago to sell my three bedroom end-of-terrace house. Just to give you some background information, it has a 24 ft lounge, newly fitted kitchen, family bathroom with shower and corner suite, new built conservatory, 60ft garden, garage with workshop and inspection pit to name but a few items ... ...round to sell us the Halifax service and h said that our house was an instant seller. Yes of course it is. We were to be put on their website and marketed to all the people on their buyers register. Anyway they did us a good deal on fees so we signed up for 8 weeks. Well you know the saying – you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
After not hearing anything for the first week I phoned the office to be told that my details were all going out to prospective ...
