One of the ... ...side.I received letters from the Halifax advising that I was at fault because I must have forced the window!!! then I advised that the screws were missing,then the screws were too small and this went on and on...I had reports from people and companies that hadn't even been to the house giving a detailed report on my window !!!! one month later they paid out and the window was replaced.

All claims since have taken over a month to be paid...The service is poor...no one calls back and the staff are hostile and unhelpful..They know one word ... no.......I do not put in false claims yet I was treated as though I was a criminal...I had the same problem with the roof after storm damage...This is not a good company..be it the insurance or the mortgage..as soon as is possible I will remove all accounts..DON'T USE THE HALIFAX

...baby was just 5wks old. Halifax passed our claim to their contracted lost adjusters and refused to discuss anything in relation to the claim. After cleaners attending to do shabby job we were forced to move back with No Running Water, No Cooking & Cleaning Facilities. Lost Adjuster handling the claim never visited our property. With a baby we were aked to live in 1double room with all our belongings and move around from room to room during the restoration ... ...recognised our home as Habitable until one of their own contractors visited our home.Only after many disputes with Halifax a manager came on line to discuss the claim in Jan-06. Halifax was happy to compensate £500 for all the trouble & inconvinience. Our phone bills amounted to over £800. ...

Advantages: advantages of having total trust in staff who will help fully and efficiently. Disadvantages: none so far.
having had home insurance for the last 13 plus years,ihave made several claims in various circumstances and never had any trouble with this service at all.halifax personnell have allways treated my claims quickly,fairly,and as compassionately as possible.they have never let me down,i fully recomend xtra cover!!!.i recently put in a claim for a damaged computer which my wife accidentally knocked over while cleaning the house.i rang xtra cover immediately ...
