Disadvantages: a bit sweet

Now from time to time we all at some point suffer with a sore throat and have our own ways of dealing with this from gargling with TCP to sucking on one of the many throat sweets that are on the market. Personally I usually avoid the TCP and go for Soothers. Nobody likes drizzling noses, dry coughs or red raw throats. But thankfully help is at hand (at least for the last of these!) Halls soothers are the perfect helping hand for sore throats as although they wont instantly make it disappear, they'll ease the pain and they taste really good. Currently Soothers cost around 49p-60p (depending on where you go ) and are available in 4 flavours: - Strawberry - Cherry - Blackcurrent - Peach and Raspberry* ...

Just like most of you I have been suffering from the winter sniffles for the past few weeks and have been unable to shift my sore throat and the blocked up nose, it seems to go one day and re-appear the next, really starting to annoy me now. And at work this morning my colleague insists upon having her blow air dry heater on full pelt whilst the rest of us are coughing and spluttering all over the place, unfortunately she doesn’t seem to realise ...
...So off I went to RS McColl’s this morning in search of a miracle, well at least some orange juice and maybe something to sooth my sore throat, I managed to get the orange juice along with a packet of Halls Soothers, Blackcurrant flavour. Halls Soothers come in packets of around ten lozenges, all individually wrapped, very similar in appearance to that of Lockets, only the colour is an attractive deep purple. I have yet another sore throat. The doctor has threatened me with taking my tonsils out, so to avoid seeing him again I have invested my money on some medicated sweets. I choose blackcurrant flavoured Halls Soothers. The Packaging. Halls Soothers come in a packet with ten individually paper wrapped sweets. On the outer package is a lot of information. The claim is that these are "blackcurrant flavour sweets with liquid centres made with fruit juice". ...
...fruit and veg for the day?) The best before date on this pack is dec 2007, giving the product a long shelf life. There are nutrition facts, storage information and the ingredients lists along with health warnings. I have to admit that I thought these were medicated sweets until I read the information on the package. I dropped kids off at school this morning and went into shop for the morning paper, and decided i needed something to help soothe my sore throat. I looked at the vast array of cough type lozenges on display at the shop and decided that Hall's Soothers offered the most variety in flavours. They have these available in Blackcurrant, Peach and Raspberry, Cherry, Honey and Lemon, and the packet i chose to buy is Strawberry. They cost me 54p for a 45g ...
...12cm long, predominately white with the words HALLS in white lettering with red highlights, and Soothers in large red writing with gold highlights. It says strawberry in red below that and has large pictures of delicious looking strawberries at one end. Now on the side of the tube it says 10 liquid centre sweets with real fruit juice. But nowhere does it say these will soothe your throat, but they are placed on the shelves beside the likes of Lockets ... Read review
