It is that time of year again when people who are suffering with some kind of cold or virus are every where. I am unfortunately one of them. In a quest to help my sore throat I went to Tesco’s to see what remedies they had on offer. After browsing the shelves I eventually chose Hall’s blackcurrant flavour soothers. I can’t stand the taste of menthol products or honey and lemon which seem to be the typical flavour for throat sweets so these fruity sweets looked very appetising. What are Soothers? Hall’s soothers are a throat sweet made with real blackcurrant juice. The packet states; “Delicious ... more

Advantages Advantages Taste good, cheap, work!

Unfortunetly i'm not feeling great at the moment, with horrendous morning sickness (sorry if that's a bit too much information!) and a sore, dry throat to top it off. Luckily i've been using this brand of soothing throat lozenges for a considerable amount of time and I know that they work, so as soon as I felt a sore throat coming on I popped out and bought a packet. They come in a sweet like packet which weighs 33.5 grams and contains 10 of the lozenges, and at 47p and they're pretty good value in my opinion, as one lozenge is enough to noticeably soothe my throat. Not only are they effective ... more

Halls Soothers The Halls Soothers throat tablets used to be a top favourite of mine when I was suffering from a sore throat or indeed a tickly cough which needed some lubrication. The fact is that they are easily available as not only in chemists and supermarkets but smaller convenience stores and newsagents. Not only are they sold in a lot of places but they are fairly cheap compared to other throat sweets at around 50p. There are about three different flavours to choose from which include blackcurrant (my favourite), cherry, and peach and raspberry. The wrapping of the Halls soothers is ... more

A few weeks ago I was suffering from a really sore throat, there is nothing worse than being at work with an irritated throat as it just makes the day go longer. I went out to the chemist to get something to keep my throat less tickly and decided on these Blackcurrant Halls Soothers as sweets like this usually do the trick. I think Halls are a well known brand and they have a good reputation and so I read the instructions for how often to take them and hoped they would help. PACKAGING These Soothers come in a long thin packet which is purple with the Halls logo on it and the word 'soothers' ... more

I’m hoping the horrible cold, and sore throat season is almost over. I’ve gone through a whack of throat sweets. Admittedly, not just for the soothing factor, but for the taste too, some are really delicious, including these blackcurrant flavour Halls. Information Halls Soothers come in four different flavours, blackcurrant, strawberry, cherry and peach and raspberry. They are widely available to buy from supermarkets, chemists and the like. They will set you back around 70 pence for a pack of 10 lozenges. The soothers The packaging of these soothers looks quite appealing, it is purple in ... more
