This amazing game from bungie has amazed everyone by selling over 10,000 copies in less than 2 month's. Halo 2 is an unbelievable shoot them up game that has won over the hearts of children and grown adults all over the world.
On this addition of the halo series you can play two-player on campaign mode yet I haven't tried it yet so I can't comment on that experience. In this games campaign mode you control Spartan 117 otherwise known as master chief on his quest to save the human race from the alien force of the covenant who are led by three prophets. You can also control a covenant elite (one of the higher ranks in the covenant's army, ranked by there armour colour)but I cannot remember his name.

Here is my break down of the covenant units

Grunts: The basic infantry units of the covenant, Grunts are dangerous in groups but present little threat individually. Short, stocky, and relatively slow, they will often panic when faced with superior forces. However, if they are being led by a elite, they will stand and fight.

Jackals: Excellent shots, the jackals seem to be higher in status-if not in rank-than the Grunts. They often will be found in defensive positions, fighting from behind a distinctive energy shields. A well used shield makes a jackal a difficult target, but the notch they use to return fire provides a weak spot that can be exploited.

Hunters: are incredibly dangerous foes, deployed more like equipment than soldiers. They are always deployed in pairs. These massive creatures appear to be composed of multiple organisms that exist within the hunter armour, creating a bipedal hive creature. Near impenetrable armour and a devastating hand-held fuel rod weapon make Hunter pairs very problematic

Elites: The elites are the core of the covenant military. Excellent soldiers, brilliant tacticians, and disciplined aggressive fighters, they are the primary strength of the covenant force. Faster, stronger, and tougher than humans, they fight in relatively small numbers but often lead squads of Grunts. Armour colour seems to indicate rank, and we believe Elites are promoted based on numbers of casualties they inflict.

Brutes: We don’t know as much about these guys apart from the fact that they fight together in a pack and are stronger than the Elites. They have similar techniques on the battle field to the Elites and their numbers have increased dramatically since the conflict started.

Drones: The drones also seem to be new to the covenant forces, much like the brutes…they look as if they are descended from insects originally. They have a limited flying ability and are used to maintain spaceships, they also have amazing accuracy for shooting. They have a much higher intelligence than any of the fore mentioned Covenant troops and because of this and their apparent mastery of anti gravity flight assistance has given them a massive strategic advantage.

Prophets: Again very little in known about these strange creatures…they seem to be religious in nature and tend to deal with administrative matters. Because of this they have very little to do with the battle itself and are rarely killed or captured.

Available weapons

M6C Pistol: This is the standard weapon…when fired accurately it is powerful weapon.

BR55 Rifle: A battle rifle that fires in short automatic bursts…It’s very accurate and is a useful all around weapon

M7/Caseless Sub Machine Gun: Not accurate over long distances is very good at close quarters.

S2 AM Sniper Rifle: A gas operated magazine fed weapon, very powerful but because of its size and limited magazine capacity lowers strategic use.

M19 SSM Rocket Launcher: A light anti-vehicle weapon and commonly used.

M90 Shotgun: Powerful, loud, pump-action, magazine fed firing magnum rounds with an excessive recoil. Devastating at close range but should be used with caution in close quarters.

M9 HE-DP Fragmentation Grenade: A basic explosive device that if thrown well can kill or stun most opponents

M41 LAAG: An electric, 3 barrelled vehicle mounted on an aircraft, can easily penetrate armour

M68 Gaauss Cannon: Vehicle mounted machine based on a magnetic field. Good at penetrating armour but not so good against multiple infantry.

Better technology
Plasma Pistol: This is a semi-automatic, directed energy weapon that fires rapid bursts of super heated plasma. Holding the trigger for a long period of time can however build a powerful overcharged plasma bolt so the weapon becomes temporarily unusable due to excess heat.

Plasma Rifle: Favoured by the Elites but is used by many Covenant troops. It’s a directed energy weapon and is capable of both automatic and semi-automatic fire. Again extended use causes over heating, temporarily disabling the gun and depleting energy core…once the energy core is completely discharged the weapon is useless.

Needler: Unusual weapon that fires razor sharp crystalline projectiles, using a homing ability to centre on soft living organisms. Energy fields deflect them successfully and they ricochet from other hard surfaces. Ammunition explodes after entering flesh causing further damage.

Covenant Carbine: A rare projectile firing rifle, a powerful and stocky weapon which is fitted with a magnifying scope. Fires single rounds with a high degree of accuracy and power.

Particle Beam Rifle: Precise, powerful weapon, using particle beam acceleration method to fire a devastating beam of energy. Unfortunately has a limited battery capacity.

Brute Shot: A type of grenade launcher used exclusively by Brutes. This is one of the least precise weapons with limited ammunition capacity although this is made up for by the lethal bayonet attachment…not to be messed with even if it does look like a snail!!!

Covenant Energy Sword: Initially thought to be purely ceremonial, and although few have been seen they are used by high ranking Elites. It seems to cut through any armour with ease.

Fuel Rod Gun: This launches highly radioactive projectiles which is highly effective against vehicles and people.

Plasma Grenade: Using unknown technology this weapon can tell the difference between strategic and non-threatening targets…it doesn’t explode unless it is a threatening target.

There are also ground vehicles to use which don’t need an explanation, apart from to say that you use different vehicles depending on whether you are Spartan 117 or Covenant but these you can find out for yourself.

Moving away from the game play, the graphics are stunning as for the music you don’t notice it because your so absorbed in the game but to be honest I’m not sure there is music in the actual game because I’ve never noticed but it defiantly doesn’t need music. The controls give you complete control of the character you are controlling.

I bought this game for £29.99 but that was on special offer
