When I was going camping in summer last year I was aware that I would require a variety of products and anti bacterial hand sanitisers were one of the things I knew I was going to need with me. While browsing my local Asda I found a variety of products meeting my needs and one of them were these particular hand wipes branded as 'Halo'. I have no idea of their history, who they are or what they make as it's not a brand I have come across before but at 3 packets for £1 I figured they were worth a try for 33p a packet.

Each packet is pocket sized and contains around 20 small hand wipes which are antibacterial. They come in a green packet and have a sticky label on the front like so many other wipe products. The label is sticky but not as much as some others, I found that after a few uses of peeling back and re-sticking the label started to refuse to fully stick and by the end of the packet the label was almost barely sticking at all which is a complete failure in my mind.

Once opened the wipes are easy to remove from the packet but a few wipes do remove at the same time so you need to try and de-tangle them whilst stuffing them back in the packet making the package lumpy and not as pocket friendly as it originally is. Another point of these wipes is that with them sticking together I would imagine them to be extremely moist, however they are rather dry in comparison to other products available although admittedly I am used to using the hand gel and not these wipes. I didn't feel that my hands were fully cleaned and I would have liked the wipes to be a little bigger and a little more moist to feel that my hands were fully cleaned and from that point of view I wasn't impressed by them at all. I also found that the wipes had a very strong disinfectant type of scent and it was something that definitely caught the back of my throat a couple of times which meant I wasn't very enthusiastic about using these for my 3 year old son simply because the smell was so strong.

I found that although these wipes weren't great for using on my hands I found that these were ok for cleaning surfaces, pots and odd bits and pieces whilst I was camping. As I can't see the germs I have to believe that these are being removed and with the smell it definitely makes me believe that they are being smothered by the smell if nothing else!

At 33p per pack I feel that they were good value although for the job they are intended they were useless. I can't say I would buy them again, I don't think they are as effective as the hand gel and the result these produce so I was disappointed but for wiping things over just to keep on the safe side I would recommend them as they aren't too moist or too big.
