My five year old daughter is very much into everything that she can lay her hands on to do with Disney Princesses. She also loves making things so when it was her birthday I bought her the Hama Beads Disney Princess gift box. She had previously brought home some simple hama bead designs when she was at nursery but this was our experience of having them at home. The gift set contains 3000 beads, 3 plastic grids to work the design on, one pattern template and two ironing sheets. If you are successful you should have everything you need in order to make an Ariel, a Jasmine and a small fish and bird. There were some very scant instructions on the back of the box which I have to confess I overlooked to start with. It's Hama time!

Advantages: Keeps your kids entertained so you can come on Ciao
Disadvantages: Hours spent picking the beads up off the floor.

kept this hobby going for at least 6 months, our house was full with name plaques, farm animals, people & flowers. Very pretty little things, they even made me a set of coasters & gave them out as presents at Christmas. The beads are great as stocking fillers also. Once the craze passed we put the boxes away to be forgotten for a few years. Last week my eldest daughter now aged 11yrs, discovered the beads once more. It's been bliss this week, half term & all, all four daughters have spent hours in the kitchen at the table making Hama beads. **GETTING STARTED** The bead its self is a little cylinder shape 2.5mm in length & 1mm in diameter. Who ever invented these thank you! They are a blessing. I have to admit i had never seen or heard of them before, until i was babysitting my friends 7 year old girl last week. It was late afternoon and my friends child came downstairs with a box of these. At first i thought they were just another phase of toys that had came along but when she satrted playing with them i saw why they were so good. They occupied her almost all night and the end products were actaully really good! entertainment- must be good to keep a 7 year old girl occupied for 3 hours none stop end product- colorful and the child feels a sense of achievement! learning- suppose it gets the childs imagination going best point- keeps children occupied worst point- Fiddly and can cause mayhem if dropped as they are very tiny(wouldnt recommend to young children ...
