The TomTomone xl is in my opinion the best navigation aid in it,s price range. Further I would with no hesitation say. it gives systems out there that cost £3000 or more a run for their money. Having previously owned the TomTom go. which I found to be of great usefullness . This improved and updated device satisfactoraly adresses any slight niggles the TomTom gomay have had. I found the route calculation speed to be fast The device also has many extremely useful gadgets and applications. A particularly handy application is the inbuilt income generating cameras detection [pardon me I meant to say safety cameras]. the device is also capable of calculating a route around traffic congestion and accidents, particularly useful for those of us regularly using the M25. ...
Advantages: Easy to Use, Cheap with All the Functions you really Need Disadvantages: Being Told to Keep Right on Motorways. Can be Distracting.
Great little unit.
This piece of kit is a lifesaver. Not only can it help you with directions but I'm sure it will save more marriages than coucilling. No more arguing over poor directions or where to go.
The system has many useful functions.
1. Basic GPS - To get from A to B. This can be via postcode, location name etc. Generally very good just get to the area you know and let the TomTom take you from their. See downside point 2.
2. Points of interest - Can include anything from restuarants & cinenas to your local funeral dirctor - Many free sites to download from.
3. Speed camera details.
4. Speedo - My 2002 Mondeo underclocks by about 10% and I've only just noticed so I can now get everywhere 10% quicker without worrying about speeding - This is Great news.
5. Updates from TomTom webside including map corections ...

Having spend you hard earned cash on a GPS it is worth spending that little bit extra on a carry case to go with it. I chose the TomTomone case mainly because I own a TomTomone. I would recommend this case though, as my GPS fits inside nice and snugly, and the case itself is compact so it fits inside my handbag easily. The case is solid enough to protect from general wear and tear, however it is still lightweight. I am not sure it would protect a GPS from being dropped on the floor though. The other thing I like about the case its its unassuming dark grey colour. If someone where to glance inside my handbag, it is not immediately obvious, so I feel more confident about carrying it around with me without getting robbed the moment I step out of the car! ...
