Let me just say before you read this, that this product is only going to be of interest to people who have a fair amount of camera kit based on an SLR, Medium Format, or large Camcorder. It is not really a general use backpack, although you could use it as that, since it's weatherproof, light, strong, very confortable and very well padded, but it's most likely overkill unless you are carrying precious cargo.
Now that i own a camera body, three lenses i take everywhere, extension tubes, a large Flash, a photo viewer/Hard drive, memory cards, filters etc, i needed somewhere to put it all safely when i go off trekking to take photographs.
After doing some research, my decision lay between the Lowepro Mini-Trekker AW (an excellent bag also) and this, the tamrac Expedition 5. Both are small enough that you will have no problems taking ...
Advantages: waterproof, thermal bottle and food compartments Disadvantages: velcro on flap doesn't stick well, not enough pockets, straps cut in to you
The things I found wonderful about this bag are:
Waterproof, Thermal bottle compartment and thermal food compartment in the bottom
The things that are not so good:
-If you fill the bag up then the velcro on the flap just will not stay stuck down when you pick it up by the top handle.
-It is not very easy to find things in as it is just like throwing everything in a sack! You have to dig for things.
-Not enough pockets for small items such as dummies and calpol sachets.
- The straps cut into your shoulders when the bag is packed full.
-It doesn't sit on your back very well so is generally uncomfortable to wear.
-Doesn't hang well on the backs of pushchairs.
I now use it as a bag for muslins and spare clothes and toys if I am going somewhere for the day and the thermal bottle warmer makes a great ...

I'd wanted a bigger bag, a step-up from the previous bag I had which was a lowepro, which had the bare capacity to carry one camera body and a small lens. My 18-55mm lens with its body struggled to fit, I'd worry that if I pushed it in too hard, the lens would snap. Thankfully it never happened. It was awkward to use it so I was more willingly to pay for this bag.
