***** Newlink USB2.0 7 in1CardReader/Writer *****
I'm not great with technology - I can do things but it has to be simple, consistent and woe betide the electrical object should it break down.
Luckily this is the easiest piece of equipment so I'll continue to love it.
***** What's it do? *****
This is a device that you plug into your usb port in your computer. You then place your memory card/s into the designated slot on the Newlink reader and hey presto your memory card can then be read by your computer. There's no messing about loading software to recognise each different card or device since you're using the same one each time.

The advantages of the Hama 9 in1 system are various. Firstly, as it only takes up one USB slot and can be removed when not in use you don't have to worry about connection cables ? it uses a standard USB connection, with the cable for connecting the cardreader supplied. There are no drivers to install ? it presupposed that you are using Windows 98SE or later (i ...
Advantages: ummmmm Disadvantages: Doesn't work very well, slow, intermitently recognises disks, poor back up service, need I go on?
I ordered my Freecom DVD Recorder LS USB2.0 after my CD/DVD drive packed up on my 15 month old HP Desktop. I wanted it mainly to load CD ROM and burn DVD's from movies already converted to DVD format on my hard drive. Being that my PC had no disk drive I relied upon this external drive to load the bundled DVD burning software (Roxio 9). This took several days and many attempts. Then I tried burning my first DVD. After taking 3 hours to do a task that previously took about 30 minutes, this recorder produced a disc that no dvd player in my home recognised (and I have 4). I found the user interface very unfriendly and it simply didn't work. Needles to say, I'll be getting a refund! ...
