Advantages a masterpiece
Disadvantages none
This is Shakespeare’s undoubted masterpiece and deservedly so. As with all of his plays they appear initially to be inaccessible due to their language, but on reading ‘Hamlet’ one is struck by how many modern day expressions crop up and you use yourself without knowing that they have come directly from the quill of the bard. The story is compelling and intense if not slightly long winded. It is, however, never boring or tiring. There have been so many versions of this on stage and in the cinema that I recommend you to read it yourself and discover your own version, and decide for yourself if Hamlet is really mad.
