I paid £11 for my lovely tin of Hammerite hammered paint and it came in a blue tin with 500ml of paint inside. I like this Hammerite paint because it lets me paint directly onto a rusty surface and it means I don’t have to get rid of the rust first. I have a very small chain link fence at the side of my house and as time goes on it’s getting more and more rusty and it was looking a mess. The neighbour was telling me he’d paint it himself but I prefer to be beholden to no-one although he was kind to offer, and I told him this. I bought the paint when I went to Tesco’s with my daughter and I did it myself. It was warm and sunny and I like to be outdoors as much as possible anyway.

It has got a three in one formula so I didn’t even need to use a primer or an undercoat I was just able to paint it straight onto the metal chain and it looked lovely when I’d finished it. This was last summer and it still looks lovely. The Hammerite is very good value for money I think because it is guaranteed to keep looking nice for up to five years after I have painted it on. I like it because I can also use it inside my house as well as outside and I think this makes it really good value for money. I still have about three quarters of the tin left now though the lid has got jammed and I cannot prize it open now.

I also painted my lovely garden chair with it. It was white originally but I couldn’t get it to stay looking clean so I painted over it with the black Hammerite and not it looks lovely. It is very easy to use and you don’t need to use much and so long as I put the plastics down then it doesn’t do any damage to my slab stones if it drips. It dries quite quickly too and is ready to sit on after about 6 hours though I waited until the next day. None of it has flaked off at all.

This is lovely paint and it looks very nice when it has been applied and I recommend it to you.
