Baking Heaven Advantages: Retro look, good power, easy storage Disadvantages: Shortish cord, fairly expensive I purchased the Kenwood from John Lewis for around £45, and although the price sounds a bit steep, i have the mid set, 'If you give more, you get more'. I haven't got the red wine coloured one as shown in the picture, i have actually got a cream one, everything else however is the same. The box it came in is very trendy, black and modern with a nice matt finish, it definetly gave me high hopes that i had bought a good mixer. It opened up in a very ... ...it open routine! I have a rather small kitchen so storage was crucial to my purchase, as soon as i saw this on the shelf it stood out from the rest. i had never seen a design like it where you could store all the devices that go with the mixer, with the mixer! I usually find myself hunting thorugh the drawers for the attachments! They slot easily into the holes which is always great and click out easily enough with a small press of a button, as ... Whisk it, Mix It, Knead It Advantages: multi tool, on board storage Disadvantages: only in white ...of those items was the Kenwood HM320 Hand Mixer, one of the few items I had specifically requested. As my children have grown old enough to understand the concept of making cakes I have begun to bake regularly for them, especially now Christopher is in full time school and has school events to supply food for, they may not be big enough to make the cakes themselves yet but they do enjoy helping mummy cook and obviously enjoy the results! The Kenwood ... ...with 2 different style stainless steel mixing tools, you have the traditional beaters and you also have the spiral shaped kneaders, 2 of each are supplied and click into holes on the underside of the mixer when in use, to release the tools for cleaning you simply press the circular button on the top of the mixer and they pop out, after all you wouldn't want to be plunging the whole device into your washing up bowl! kenwood hand mixer Advantages: small size, strong power Disadvantages: too short beaters and kneaders ...it. I decided to buy Kenwood food mixer because I think it`s a excellent trademark. My own experiences are slightly different, because on the one hand mixer is great, have a small size (which is very handy and took not many place in my kitchen) and strong quiet motor, but on the other hand beaters and kneaders are too short! No kitchen is complete with out one! Advantages: Does the hard work for you. Disadvantages: You need a handy plug socket. This hand mixer saves a lot of elbow grease when baking. It is great for mixing ingredients for cakes and for whipping cream and also does an excellent job of whisking egg whites to make meringue. It has a shiny "stainless steel look" finish, with some black detail. This mixer looks quite nice in your kitchen if you have to leave it out on display although It can tend to look a little gruby from time to time as greasy finger prints stand out on it, ... ...to hold, it feels good and sturdy, but it is a little heavy, so probably would not be very suitable for young children to use. The mixer paddles click securely into the handle and are released by pressing a button so they can be dropped straight into the washing up bowl without getting sticky fingers! It has three different speed settings, this is useful so that you have more control. Ready Steady Whisk Advantages: Simple to use, different speed settings, easy to clean, cheap price Disadvantages: whisks sometimes fall out if not secured properly Having grown tired of trying to whip cream or whisk egg whites with my simple hand whisk, I decided to invest in one of the electric variety. I won't lie, the reason I picked this electric whisk over any other was that it was the cheapest in the shop, and great value it was to, at £10. For the amount that I would use this, I felt that this was a fair amount to pay. It is incredibly simple to use. It comes with two whisks (and also two additional ... ...whisk, being not overly familiar with these products I'm not sure what these are for, nor have I had a need to use them). The whisks slot in easily, although it is not always easy to tell when they are completely in - I've had one or two occassions when they've dropped out mid-whisk. It also looks prety smart and stylish, in black with smooth contours.
