I've been waiting for this product for years. O2's XDA came close, as did the Nokia Communicator but this really is everything you'll ever need in one easily portable format.
The keyboard is tiny but you soon get used to it. For ease of use, the phone can be operated from a touch pad on the main screen. This is great for people like me who hate fiddly buttons.
The screen is fantastic as it is large, wide and clear. It can be used as a touch screen or used with the stylus- either way it's responsive and easy to use.
The organiser functions sync with Outlook and can be easily navigated using the included stylus. You can email(POP 3) using the QWERTY keyboard. SMS and a built in camera are also standard. The camera really only works well outdoors but you'd expect that from any camera without a flash. The resolution is really only suitable for MMS and not really for recording your holiday on.
There are many other features such as an excellent calculator and an MMC compatible slot. Because of the sheer number of features it takes a while to get to grips with everything. The manual is very comprehensive but easy to read and excellent interactive tutorials are inlcuded on the phone itself.
The best thing about the Treo is the internet facilitiy. It is surprisingly fast and the screen size makes it a pleasurable experience. I was able to check phone number on BT's wap site which saved me paying 50p to directory enquiries. The only restriction here is caused not by the phone but the lack of WAP compatible sites.
The battery lasts for just over three days under normal use. On stand-by it lasts for a week! The GSM phone function can be switched off when you're in a plane for example, allowing you to continue to use the rest of the features. There is also a switch on top to turn off the ringer. This is a great idea- much handier than digging through menus when you need to turn off the sound in a hurry.
On the downside, the phone is bulkier and twice as heavy as my previous phone (176g). Also, as it's Palm and not Microsoft you don't get the Pocket Office software that you would find on an Ipaq so business uses may be limited.
The Treo is the most highly featured phone/pda on the market giving you everything you need to communicate and access information.

I nearly bought one of these not so long ago, but when I saw that tiny keyboard I just decided to get the latest T3 instead - with a keyboard to go with it! Glad you like it though, I was worried about getting tied into a mobile provider for my PDA as well, if you see what I mean! Kirstyxx
