My husband has been using a Palm device for a few years now along with a standard mobile phone and after he did some intensive research he discovered that Handspring have joined with palm and have brought a device out which is a combined mobile phone and PDA. With this new device called Palmone Treo 600 you have the best of both worlds because it is a phone along with a PDA (personal digital assistance or hand heldcomputer for short). We purchase the phone from Micro Warehouse for £387.74 including Vat. The phone has an address book as all phones do, but it has been integrated with the contacts part on the PDA which means when you enter details into the PDA contacts, that’s all you have to do because it links up with the phone and information you enter is in both sides. It has a Querty keyboard like a computer and if you’re not so good at typing like my husband its great news. He has told me! When it comes to syncronisation once you have read the instructions and installed the software it is nice and easy. The only part my husband is disappointed with is that there no bluetooth facility. You get in the package a hands free unit for the car, which does work okay but if your used to a bluetooth device around your ear it is obviously a bit different having to earpiece. You can purchase a screen protector, which my husband highly recommends and easy to put on. You use the stylus constantly and this constant use could damage the screen. To buy a new screen is about £200 so it is well worth buying screem protectors, a pack of 5 for £14.45, to prevent this from happening. He has also recommended the case to put it in to protect the whole unit, which is £24.95. This comes with a clip you can attach to a belt if wished. It has a lining inside the case which protects the unit completely. We purchased these both at Expansys for £42.20 including delivery. There is a cradle for sitting the device in and this also is used for synchronisation. We bought this from Expansys also and it cost £20.25 including delivery The delivery costs are £2.80 at Expansys for up to a weight of 0.5kg so it is best to buy one than one item at a time, rather than separately like we did. This is a great piece of technology especially for those who like gadgets like my husband!
