I have been using this monitor now for over five months and have no complaints at all. I must admit that I was a little dubious about it to start with as the price was only £169, which is at the cheaper end of the 17” monitor market, but as you can see from the specs below it was very good value;

The monitor’s dimensions are only 418mm wide, 417mm high and 419mm deep so it will not take over your desk completely, but at 15.0Kg it should be handled with care.
The ‘Dynaflat’ screen is almost completely flat, eliminating the feeling that you are looking at a curved screen and reduces sun glare and reflections. The monitor is also microprocessor controlled offering a steady and reliable display. In use the display is very crisp and colours are very well defined with no bleeding, even with mixed high / low contrasts.
Four buttons at the bottom of the screen allow access to the monitors on screen display for controlling contrast, brightness, position, size, geometry, moiré, language, onscreen display positioning, colour temperature, degauss and zoom.
The monitor is plug and play compatible and also Mac compatible with the correct adapter.
Overall a very impressive display with more features than you can shake a stick at and a three year replacement warranty. Then when you consider that they can be picked up for as cheap as this, it is a definate must buy.
Advantages: cheap & cheerful Disadvantages: 1600x1200 possible but not practical
...Brands Electronics, who deal with Hansol warranty issues. That's when the fun started.
Brands agreed to do a straight replace-with-new, and a few days later my wife rang me at work to say the replacement had arrived. However, when I got home, I found that they'd sent a 720ED, an inferior model.
So I rang Brands and told them what had happened. Next they sent a 710D, but it was obviously used. The third one was another 720ED. As over a month had ... ...for about 3 consecutive weeks, Hansol UK took pity on me and sent me a new one direct. Of course I rang Brands and told them this, but needless to say they also sent me one a few days later, without warning. I should have kept it as compensation for all the phone calls and wasted petrol carting monitors to and from work (I usually cycle).
Anyway, about the monitor itself. Yes, it is generally good, but I can't help feeling a bit disappointed. Perhaps ...

Advantages: Great Product, Great Price, Even Better Service Disadvantages: It did blow up once
...was going to buy a Hansol 710P but when I saw the flat screen version for just £25 more I decided to go for it. The 710D is a joy to use with a greater spec and a great picture to back it up. For the exact specs follow the link above to the web site (which is also very good). I got the monitor as part of a system I was having built by my local back street specialist. The PC is primarily a games PC so therefore I needed a monitor that could support ... ...no probs. I always say that no company will have a 100% reliability but the good companies sort the problems out well and fast, and Hansol get top marks here. And I have not even mentioned that these are meant to be budget monitors yet either. ...

Advantages: Cheap, good quality Disadvantages: Big compared to new tubes and TFT panels
I bought my 17-inch Hansol 710D about a year ago from Ebuyer as I was looking for a larger monitor primarily to browse the web and also to play games on without using magnifying glasses. Money was a a strong motivator in this choice, although I was finally swayed by a number of very good reviews for this monitor. So far, it has not diappointed. The monitor looks like any other cheap monitor with off-white cabinet and plastic stand. On the front are ... ...on-off button. The status is indicated by a LED that turns green when on, or amber when no signal is received.
Performance is very good, particularly keeping in mind the price. I used it with an STB velocity 128 video card at first and currently with a Gforce 4 TI4200. Refresh rates to up to 85Hz at 1024x768 pixels. The image is crisp and clear. As the tube face is perfectly flat, there is minimal distortion of the image. Colours are good, although ...

...the monitor was a re-badged Hansol model. I could tell this from the grill pattern, it was exactly the same as my old 14" Hansol, The guy in the shop confirmed this, I was quite happy because the 14" unit was very good quality and very reliable. The monitor is excellent, good build quality, large viewing area and a very nice flat screen. The monitor features on screen display controls which allow you to adjust the size, shape, position of the screen ... ...pitch of .25 which is very good and gives a nice clean, sharp image. I have absolutely no complaints about this monitor and feel for the money I got the very best I could. The monitor comes with a 3 Year warranty as well. Excellent. No Complaints. ...

Advantages: Good Quality, Inexpensive and Reliable Disadvantages: Who's Hansol?
I sell Hansol monitors in a shop that shifts about 1,000 of them a year. We never hear anything about them again. That leads me to believe that they are very reliable and good quality or that the manufacturer has a very good backup service. I suspect both. If this were not the case I would be the first to know.
Why should you trust me? Read my review on IPC Topnote notebook computers to see what I write about products that are not good.
Buy a Hansol. It is a quality product at a good price. Go for the 710P or the 710D. These are my favourites, but you cannot go wrong with any in the range. ...

The 710D from Hansol offers the user an almost completely flat screen and breaks away from the usual curves and contours offered by conventional monitors. The revolutionary "Dynaflat" tube used by the 710D eliminates the feeling that you are looking at a curved screen and in the process reduces unwanted reflections that you normally expect from a normal CRT screen. The result is an image that is true, vivid and easy to view for impressively long periods of time. The 710D can display a maximum resolution that goes beyond that expected of a 17" monitor and will handle every challenge you give it. The 710D is TCO 99 compliant as standard. A 5 language on screen display menu provides precise display adjustments while Plug & Play fully supports Windows 95 and 98 for easy configuration. The Hansol 710D not only meets MPR-II and Energy Star guidelines, but complies with the world's strict TCO 99 standards for low radiation, heat reduction, energy efficiency, recyclables and ergonomics.
