After living in West Sussex, and Littlehampton being just up the road, Harbour Park is a great place to take your children. It’s a big tourist attraction so it does get busy throughout the holidays. Harbour Park is in Littlehampton, West Sussex coast. To get to Harbour Park is very easy, it’s just off the A27. Trains and Buses run regular to Littlehampton, and it’s a 5 – 10 minute walk from the train station.
Harbour Park is on the seafront it has a sandy beach. Where normally if you were to walk anywhere else on the West Sussex coast its all pebbles. Not good for sitting on let me tell you. You can see the River Arun and its marina. It’s a lovely view.
Harbour Park is great for the whole family if you all want a good day out.
Harbour Park is open all year round, except Christmas day. Your probably thinking ‘How much’ well it’s FREE, you do not have to pay to get in to Harbour Park.
There is a big car park, toilets, disabled toilets, baby changing facilities,
and first aiders on the site who are qualified.
There are rides and attractions to keep yourself busy, you do however have to pay for these. The last time I went they were token rides. You buy 25p tokens and hand them over for the rides. Some rides there are The Dodgems, Waltzer, and Coaster Simulator. Plus a few other new ones. For Younger children there’s Carousel, Teapots, soft play area, trampolines, A huge slide plus many more.
For everyone that loves video games, there is a good arcade with most games to suit everyone. There are also prize-winning games. One of my favourites, but I never do to well at winning prizes. It’s everyone that you see with those massive teddies.
I did have a try at Sharkville Adventure Golf, it’s has 9 holes, shark themed. Total laugh, but im rubbish at it. The way its set out looks good it has shipwrecked boats, water features, and a huge lifelike shark. It’s just near the kiosks if anyone has time to play.
If you want something to eat, they do burgers, jacket potatoes fish and chips, hot and cold drinks all very reasonable priced if I remember rightly. You can also get ice creams from the kiosks if it’s the weather for it.
They do have a picnic area, which I love to bring a lovely picnic down for the whole family and sit there on a summer’s day. As I tend to find my daughter is too busy to actually sit for more than 5 minutes at a time before she’s off again wanting to do something else.
You can book birthday parties here, but there is such a waiting list. Its so popular they are always booked up. Tried to get my daughters 4th birthday party here, but they couldn’t do anything they were fully booked which was a big disappointment. It doesn’t cost that much either, Its about £4.99 per child, minimum of 6 children, and that’s for 1 and half hours, Plus you get a visit from pirate Ted if you wanted too, but personally kids would love him. A bonus for all us mums and dads is that while they are having fun, you can enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee.
Harbour Park's surrounding area of Littlehampton has a great history as a top tourist resort. With sandy beaches (which are situated next to Harbour Park), there are other attractions such as the Marina for sailing, fishing, diving and cruising up the river Arun, as well as pitch & putt, golf course, tennis, bowls and indoor swimming facilities.
The town isn’t that far, but there really isn’t many shops to look round.
The Riverside Gift Shop has great selection of novelties to take home. Normally everyone asks me too bring them back a stick of rock.
So to finish of my review. Would I recommend this?? Yes I would, it’s a great day out especially if you have children. They would defiantly love it. Its better to go in the summer as you have a bigger range of things to do, and surrounding areas to go too. Bognor Regis isn’t too far, where Butlins is, but I wont go into that ill leave Butlins for another review I can do. Just another idea of something you could do aswell.
Thank you for taking the time in reading my view
