However I wanted a gloss that had 'super shine' - thus my purchase of the Hard Candy Super Shine Gloss.
The lip gloss comes in quite a small tube which contains 6ml worth of gloss. Of which I later discovered went down quite quickly.
The packaging looking fun and trendy was quite a selling point ... ...the wand to be quite hard and therefore applying the gloss wasn't as straight forward. I was left with hardened looking streaks which upon pressing my lips together a few times, took this look away.
Also the wand was carrying more gloss than what was required and took me more time in trying to scrape extra gloss away on the side of the tube.

Those who know me know I adore make-up, and buy more than I could ever possibly need.
I don't have a particular favourite brand, and I am always looking for the best quality in make up, also within a budget range that doesn't break the bank.

However I wanted a gloss that had 'super shine' - thus my purchase of the Hard Candy Super Shine Gloss.
The lip gloss comes in quite a small tube which contains 6ml worth of gloss. Of which I later discovered went down quite quickly.
The packaging looking fun and trendy was quite a selling point to me, as I tend not to purchase make-up which looks more mature than I am. (If that at all makes sense?!)
Upon trying on the lip gloss for the first time, I must say I was very impressed. I thought my lips looked very glossy and also looked slightly more 'pouty'
The first thing which noticeably hit me was the delicious, sweet, vanilla aroma. Something which I wasn't quite expecting.
The aroma not being at all sickly but more-ish made the gloss irresistible and definitely had a place on my lips!
The gloss applicator comes in the way of a brush i.e similar as to a nail varnish applicator. Upon my first few applications I found the wand to be quite hard and therefore applying the gloss wasn't as straight forward. I was left with hardened looking streaks which upon pressing my lips together a few times, took this look away. Also the wand was carrying more gloss than what was required and took me more time in trying to scrape extra gloss away on the side of the tube.
However, within time the brush softened and therefore applying felt easier and softer on my lips. Also the wand was easier to apply the desired amount of gloss to the lips.
The first time I wore the gloss, it did look very shiny. I was fooled slightly as to how shiny it was however when I compared this against the glosses I already have at home.
However I was still happy with my purchase and wore most days happily.
The texture of the gloss wasn't as nice and easy going as I would have liked. It felt quite heavy and sticky on my lips. I also found that taking a sip out of a mug of tea was culprit of practically removing the whole of the gloss. Of course, the more gloss applied, the heavier and stickier your lips would feel. I tried to cut down on the amount I was applying, but then I wasn't getting a glossy effect at ALL. It was very strange indeed.
Within a few weeks however, I noticed that the gloss was beginning to feel clumpy on my lips. I firstly put this down to maybe dry skin on my lips. However after thoroughly exfoliating my lips on a few occasions, I was still having this clumpy effect. I also noticed that the gloss wasn't looking quite even on my lips.
I was very unsure as to why I was having this effect with the gloss. Was I not storing it correctly? Was I wearing too much? Or did I just have a 'faulty' one?
Within a week of this I stopped wearing the gloss and returned to my tried and trusted glosses.
However a few weeks ago, I was in Boots, browsing the shelves. I once again ended up back at the Hard Candy make-up section.
The make-up being on a special offer, buy 2 products and get the 3rd free. I foolishly took a different coloured lip gloss home with me. This being because the colour sold me, and also I wanted peace of mind, was this second gloss going to also let me down?
Yes!
I found the same problems reoccurring with this lip gloss. However the only difference being is that I felt that it was clumping even quicker than my previous purchase.
I am unsure as to why the gloss clumps and I am 100% certain that this is to no fault of my own.
Please, do not get me wrong, the gloss isn't clumping on every application. But I would say 3 out of 5 times it is.
I found the gloss can be too much for day time wear, more so if you are at work. Also I would most definitely recommend that you try and ensure that you don't wear this on a windy day with your hair down. I found my hair was always sticking onto my lips and also it was leaving me with clammy cheeks where the sticky hair had brushed past.
Applications of the gloss can be very frequent. I found the the gloss disappeared very quickly. This being to points I have noted previously (a) re-applications due to the gloss sticking to anything that dares go near your mouth, and (b) re-applications in order to achieve the clump free effect.
If anyone has the same problems as I have done I would be very happy to hear from you. As would I also be happy to hear from anyone who hasn't had the problems as I have done!
Advantages: Colour and the smell yum!!! Disadvantages: Price
...titled Super Shine Gloss by Hard Candy. I first came across it when I was browsing in Boots and instantly fell in love with the colour. The one i have is called Pixie which is a shade of bright pink, it has a certain bubblegum/sweet taste to it. Of course there are other colours, in the Hard Candy range there are 11 shades including colours such as : Fantasy, Oxygen, Flirt, Pixie, Sweetie, etc. They cater for a variety of skin tones. Also an extra ... ...very shiney ( in the tube) , hence the name. I paid about 8 pounds for my lip gloss, which to be fair is quite expensive price, but your also paying for the brand as well.
The lip gloss tube is quite small when compared to others, it holds about 6ml of lipgloss.
The actual product comes in a box which is quite cool. The lipgloss sort of looks like a tampon LOL!, the lid is silver, it looks quite funky and futuralistic. When you fist use the lipgloss ...

...bought in boots from the Hard Candy range and was attracted to it by its appealing tube that it came in. I love how shiny it is and it comes in many 11 different shades and colours all very pretty and unique. The Gloss also tastes amazing! in many different flavours such as bubble gum ect. Although the tube isn't very big at only 6ml and it didn't take long to finish. Another thing i didn't like about this product was it was very clumpy, thick and ...
