External Hard-drive fit for rugged adventures
Review of LaCie Rugged Hard Disk Hard drive 250 GB by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: Fast transfer speed, protection from knocks and drops
Disadvantages: Fairly high price
The LaCie Rugged All-Terrain External 250 hard-drive is a portable storage device which will allow you to store 250gb of multimedia files such as pictures, music and video. You will obviously also be able to hold documents and other files as well (e.g. software installations).
Measuring at 9 cm wide, 14.5 cm long, 2.5 cm in height and weighing just 250 grams, making the LaCie external hard-drive very light as well as portable. The hard-drive is ... ...amount. So, looking at the LaCie external hard-drive you will be looking at a memory capacity of 230-240 GB, which in this case is not a large chunk, but is still considerable. There is no known reason why all hard-drives (including the LaCie) have less memory than stated, it may be due to the internal disk within the outer case not being able to hold the stated amount or it may be that company's want to make a profit out of its customers. No on ...

Not perfect but close
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 250 GB by
warandpeace
Advantages: Easy way to add storage
Disadvantages: More expensive than internal drives
...eventually settled on a 250GB Freecom drive, which at the time seemed the best balance between cost and storage capacity, at just under £100 at the time of purchase, though I notice you can now get them for about £70.
Appearance: The external drive consists of a silver coloured plastic box, slightly larger than a conventional internal hard drive. As well as the drive a USB cable and power cable where also provided. To set it up is incredibly simple ... ...the computer and connect the power cable up to the mains, and the other end to the drive, stating the obvious here really, but just shows how easy it is to set up. To access the drive simply go to my computer and access the drive from their.
The drive arrived formatted in FAT 32, and as a single partition, ...

A hard to damage hard drive!
Review of Iomega eGo Portable Hard drive 250 GB by
thebigc1690
Advantages: Tough, fast and inexpensive!
Disadvantages: None to date.
...even just want.
The Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive in question has a 250Gb capacity which when used along with your original hard drive or probably even on its own is more than enough for most. Some external hard drives look and are very bulky and cumbersome, this one being designed to be portable is a lot less so. It is fairly light weight but very robust and also has the distinct advantage of looking good which a lot certainly do not.
Ok so it`s ... ...the other drives out there for functionality? Well the simple answer is yes it can and very well too, this drive is not only a good looker but also a very good performer. It connects to your PC or laptop via USB and needs no external power supply. It has a Data Transfer Rate of 480 Mbps which is up there with the best and has the following system requirements, Windows 2000/XP/Vista - Pentium II - RAM 256 MB MacOS X 10.1.5 or later - PowerPC G3 - ...
