The noise emissions from my old HDD were quite noticeable but these HDD's are very quiet, you have to be close to the case to even hear them. Maxtor have been there since the beginning of the home PC - They were making 100MB hard disks 12 years ago that are just as good as their 400GB+ disks today. I have now been using this drive for over one month after waiting to gather all the components for my HTPC (Home Theatre PC). What do I think of this drive? My system is linked to Sky Digital through a Hauppauge PVR card which is able to record straight onto hard disk without the need for a Sky+ Box.
