Review of Western Digital My Book Essential Edition WDG1U3200 320 GB by suar

Advantages: Easy to use, easy to install, no complications, very very stable
Disadvantages: None

Existing as the cheapest external HDD in the market, WD has really sweeped the market.. A perferct combination of performance, quality and good price.. It comes in 250, 320, 500 GB and just came out with 1 TB... The prices are incomparable.. This HDD is the most stable that I have ever used.. It has curbed the most irritating problems with HDD - that is stability issues.. No complications, just plug and play.. No installation of drivers, nothing ...
...photo management (Picasa).. The best thing is that it comes as FAT32 formatted, so it can be used in all (windows, mac and linux ubuntu).. As far as speed of file transfer goes, its good as per to USB 2.0 speeds... For better speeds, go for the firewire versions.. WD has also come up with data backup versions of the same.. I havent had a single problem with the HDD.. I would suggest this to everyone.. Take my word for it, it is the best available ... Read review

Sleek little WD Passport Hard Drive
Review of WD Passport Portable WDXMS3200 320 GB by pk_banana

Advantages: SLeek design, small, handy, convenient
Disadvantages: None discovered yet

I have bought this about a week ago, so I haven't had a lot of opportunities to test the product out yet. But I have to admit I really like it, because it has a very sleek design and it looks very classy. I am pretty impressed that such a small device can store up to 320GB of data. The other impressive thing is that it only needs to be plugged in USB and it works instantly. It is so easy and handy to carry around. It doesn't take up a lot of space ...
...too. The good thing about storing your data onto this little hard drive is that it allows you to set a password on the hard drive or on files / folders that you do not want to share with others in case they get a glimpse. The sync is very handy too. You can set the hard to sync files / folders each time you connect the drive to your PC / laptop, so it can be used as a backup drive. ... Read review

Fantastic price, easy to use, well worth buying
Review of Iomega HDD External Desktop Hard Drive 320 GB by halfpintstella

Advantages: Ease of use, price, size of product
Disadvantages: none that i have found

Loved the fact that you can just plug it and then use it straight away. Extremly quiet and looks nice. Handy little stand comes with it so can be vertical or horizontal. It is very stylish, silver and not too big that you cant take it around with you. Thought i would have to pay a lot for this size drive but £59.99 from Comet was a fantastic deal. Well worth the money. I was also very surprised when i got home and searched around for prices for this ... Read review

Great easy storage.
Review of Toshiba Hard drive 320 GB by Jackoh

Advantages: Quick, Cheap, Easy, Portable and Reliable
Disadvantages: Larger than more modern alternatives, slightly noisy, brightly lit.

I bought this drive almost a year ago now, It does exactly what it says, looks reasonable and functions well - fast enough to run applications/games/movies and music from it is a perfect addition to any setup lacking memory. The only downfalls to the drive are the bright LED light (which can be remedied with a bit of blue tack to stop it lighting up the room at night, and a slight whirring noise, which one must expect.. Overall a top product, would ... Read review

Pay peanuts get monkeys?
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by michaleks

Advantages: very quiet, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: slow, no drivers for Vista, untrustworthy piece of hardware

Bought this usb hard disc 2 months ago. Used half of the space. Divided disc into two partitions. It happens very often that disc stops working and sometimes cannot be recognized under Vista, until I switch it on and off few times. Please refer also to other websites and reviews about this products with similar problems. The easiest source for complaints about this problem is official forum for Freecom. I am downloading loads of stuff e.g. movies, ...
...talking about transfer between different discs. When downloading from the Internet (max speed of my broadband 600kbs) it just cannot handle multiple downloaded tasks and freezes at some point. You cannot download and listen to the music without disruptions, talking here about similar speed as above. This gives limitations specially when you have good broadband connection. I would recommend this hard disc for people who do not plan using its capacity ... Read review
